Chapter Twenty-Five

Mason Black

I watch the sky get colorful as the sunsets, it's time. I look over at Steve and he nods
"I'm with you until the end bro" He says, we touch foreheads gripping each others hair
"Until the end" I say then we hug
"Don't think that way boys" Uncle James says
"What way Dad? We're just wishing each other luck" Steve says
"You both think one of you will die today, don't think that way or it may happen. You need to think positively" Uncle James says
"Don't worry Uncle, we know, we are just reassuring each other that we have the others back" I say, he nods not really believing us
"Come on, everyone's waiting" He says as he walks past us to the front door, Steve and I follow then see everyone here ready and the warrior wolves all spread out on the yard
"Do you want to give everyone the motivational speech or should I?" Mom asks me, I look at everyone then at the warriors and back to my mothers eyes
"I'll do it mom" I say, she smiles nodding then steps aside letting me stand in front of everyone. They all look at me, I clear my throat ready to speak

Sarah Woods

"You've made lots of progress, I think it's time" John says
"Time for?" I ask looking up from reading a book about the history of fairies
"For you to hand over all that power that we've grown" He says, I mentally curse. Mason hasn't gotten back to me, I don't know if they're on their way here, they should be but I nod
"Okay, when are we doing it?" I ask closing the book
"In a couple of minutes, I have people setting the room up" He says, I furrow my brows
"Wait, room? How is this going down?" I ask
"In the room with the elements, we'll stand in the middle and say a phrase. She'll show you what you need to say, memorize it because it needs to be perfect" He says then walks out, I look at who he pointed at, to see Kat
"Thank god its you" I say
"Everyone is in, we're ready" She says, I smile nodding
"Okay, good. Now what is it that I need to say?" I ask, she holds up the book of spells and it opens on its own to a page that says 'Transfer of Power' at the top then there are about four lines, two of which the receiver says and two the giver says.
"You need to say these two lines" Kat points to the last two, I read it over then furrow my brows
"These are like the lines from the," I pause to look at her to see shes already looking at me
"Forfeit of Power" We say together, that spell is where the person saying those two lines gives all of their power to the fairy goddess
"I could say these instead and he wouldn't be able to stop me" I say
"Yeah but he'd kill you on the spot Sarah" Kat says closing the thick book
"My pack and mate would be here by then, Mason said at sunset they'd make their way here, that's right now. They're quick, it won't be long" I say
"Are you sure?" She asks, I nod
"You'll lead him to me, I'll try to stall as much as possible" I say, she gulps nodding
"Okay, be careful Sarah" She says, we hug and I grab the book
"I'll need this to try to stall" I say, she nods then walks out. I sigh opening the book to the spell John wants me to say, the lines start off the same, it's the last words that are different so he will definitely not have enough time to stop me. My door opens to reveal the devil that is my father
"Ready?" He asks, I nod. He motions for me to follow him and I do, I keep calm as we near the room
"We're here" Mason mind links me making my heart beat escalate
"Lets do this" John says as I step inside and he closes the doors after telling four vampires to not let anyone in
"Stand there, I'll stand here" He says motioning to the two circles in the middle that are overlapping
"Hold your hands out, palms facing each other so your power forms in a circle then once you say your lines it'll come to me" He says, I nod
"You remember your lines?" He asks
"Let me double check" I say, he looks irritated and I quickly go to the book looking at the spell he wants and the one I plan to say then theres a howl, followed by another, and another. War howls from Mason, Mom and Dad, we lock eyes and he looks furious
"We have to do this now!" He yells grabbing me and placing me on the circle setting my hands how they're supposed to be
"They found me" I breathe out, a smile forms on my face. He glares
"Lets say this damn spell right now!" He says as his hands are in front of him like mines
"Powers of Stars, Forces of Earth
Hear us out, Hear our requests" He says, the room turned dark after the first three words, the circles we're on is the only source of light. He looks at me signaling it's my turn making me lick my lips
"Standing here, vulnerable, willingly," I pause as a ball of light forms in the space between my palms then the door bursts open revealing Mason, my Mom and Dad
"Finish it!!" John yells, I lock eyes with him glaring
"To Forfeit all my power to you Goddess" I yell, his eyes widen as he realizes what I just did. The ball of light shines brighter, so bright it hurts my eyes
"No no no!!" John yells stepping back as the ball gets bigger and brighter in the space between my palms
"You're dead Sarah, dead" He yells, I look at him seeing he's ready to attack me but my Dad attacks him before he can hurt me
"Sarah, baby are you okay?" Mom asks coming behind me as Mason fights off some vampires that were coming this way
"Yeah, I'm fine" I say then I hear a whimper and my heart drops
"Daddy!" I yell seeing him on the floor, blood around him
"I'm okay princess" He says weakly, I notice his hand on his abdomen
"Now, Mandy move" John says, I notice his hand is bloody and the smell of something burnt hits me
"You want to kill my daughter, kill me first" Mom says, I try to move but my hands prevent my whole body from moving. The ball of light is already as big as two basketballs put in one, my hands are in the middle of the huge ball of light
"Well, alright then" John says, my eyes widen then Mason comes in and jumps on John just as a light shines from the roof and a women's silhouette comes from the light then the ball of light goes from my hands to her, making her shine brighter
"Mason, I said let me deal with this" A beautiful voice says then I see her, she's beautiful in a gold sparkling dress
"Didn't think you were going to arrive on time" Mason says as he pulls John up by the throat then tosses him in front of the beautiful lady
"Who's this?" I ask finally able to turn my body to them
"Fairy Goddess" John says scared as he looks at the bottom of her dress, fear to look up at her
"Correct, so you know why I'm here John" The Goddess says, I go to my Dads aid. I was about to heal him but then remember, I just gave up my powers.
"He's healing too slow, he'll loose way to much blood before it's fully healed" Mom says to me
"I wish I could heal you but I gave up my power" I say, Dad smiles up at me
"It's okay sweetheart, I'll be fine" He says, I look over at the Goddess then stand up slowly
"Fairy Goddess" I say, she faces me
"Sarah Woods, half werewolf, half fairy. Remarkable. We goddesses have been very intrigued by you" She says, I lick my lips
"You must know I gave my powers up to you instead of handing it over to..him," I pause looking at John with disgust then I look at her, "I need your help, I need you to save my dad" I say, her facial expression softens. She looks over my shoulder at my Dad who's on the ground, Mom holding his hand silently pleading him to hang in there, and I notice she's taking some of his pain through the mate bond
"Please" I say making her look at me again, she nods
"Mason hold him down, make sure he does not get away" She says glaring at John then she comes over to my Dad
"What happened?" She asks him
"He burned me, his hand went deep into my flesh" Dad says, Lola growls wanting out to kill John for hurting Dad. The Goddess places a hand on my shoulder and the anger subsides
"Thank you" I whisper, she nods then looks at my Dads wound
"I see the healing happening but Mandy is correct, he'll be gone by the time the healing is close to done" She says
"You can't heal him? Help the healing go faster? I was able to when I had my fairy powers" I say, she looks at me
"I may be able to but to some extent" She says
"Just do what you can, please" Mom says, the goddess nods then hovers her hand over the wound and a bright gold light shines on it. Dad lets out a sigh of relief making me let one out as well
"Thank you" I say, she looks at me
"You did a very impressive thing, you gave up your powers, that's impressive" She says
"He doesn't deserve power, he deserves to rot, alone and weak" I say, she nods
"And he will, I promise" She says
"Thank you" I say
"Sarah, give me your hands" She says, I do as told. She interlocks our fingers then light shines through her veins and it travels down to her fingers then into mines and up my veins to my chest where it vanishes slowly
"What?" I say as she lets my hands go
"You deserve them" She whispers with a kind smile then my Mom lets out a gasp for air making us look at her to see she's clenching her chest, her heart
"Oh no, no, please" I say looking down at my Dad who doesn't look to be breathing
"Drew" Mom sobs clutching his hand in hers, my vision gets blurry as I keep shaking my head denying it
"I-I'm so sorry Sarah" The Goddess whispers
"No no no!" I yell going to my Dads other side, I look down at him
"No Daddy, please don't leave me" I cry, I hold his hand and kiss his knuckles
"Please please, don't leave me" I whisper clenching my eyes shut.
"Respirer, guérir, vivre" I repeat in my head the spell I read that's french for 'breathe, heal, live' they work as cpr and a shock to the heart
"Respirer, guérir, vivre" I breathe out silently then a gasp for air makes my eyes open to see Dad with his eyes wide and gasping for air
"Drew!"
"Dad!" Mom and I say at the same time, I look at his wound to see the healing is finishing up then I lock eyes with the Goddess to see she's looking at me in awe
"What will you do with him?" I ask drawing our attention to John who's in a chokehold by Mason
"This" She says holding her hand out then John falls to the ground as light comes out of his body to her hand. She's sucking the last of his power out, as she does that his skin gets wrinklier and hair gets greyer. He drops to the floor on all fours after a while then the Goddess says some words in, I think Greek making two big men appear
"Take him away, you know where" She says, they nod then grab John and poof away.
"Where are you taking him?" I ask
"Somewhere where he'll rot forever" She says then winks making me smile
"Sarah" Mason says, I look at him and smile wider running into his arms. He holds me tightly, my wolf is finally at ease and relaxed in our mates arms.
"Never let go" I whisper, he holds me tighter making me smile
"I wont" He says kissing the top of my head
"I shall be going now, Sarah, you won't be bothered by him again. I promise" The Goddess says, I turn to her and nod
"Thank you Fairy Goddess" I say, she smiles
"It's Nat to you" She says then disappears
"Let's all get home now shall we?" Mom asks as she holds Dad with her arm around his waist, Mason has his around my shoulders then I see Kat
"I have something I need to do first" I say, my parents and mate look at me as I make my way to Kat, they follow
"The fight outside has ended, we didn't loose anyone" Kat says, I nod
"Good, do you think some of you guys would like to join my pack?" I ask, her eyes slightly widen
"What?" She asks, I smile
"You said you all lost your homes cause of John, I know fairies don't really live in packs like werewolves but I would really really like if we changed that and mixed it up" I say, she smiles
"I would love to be in your pack and I'm sure many of them will too but won't your pack mind?" She asks, I shake my head
"Let's go announce it" I say
"A pack of fairies and werewolves, nice" Mason says, I smile at him
"I am half and half so why not have my pack be it too" I say shrugging
"I like it hunny" Mom says, we all step outside and I see Masons parents, Steve, his Dad, all our warriors and the fairies.
"Fairies, I know you all know who I am. The man that held you all prisoner is now gone, for good. I know you all lost your homes cause of him so I ask if you want to join my pack, be apart of my family, we would be more than glad to have you. I know fairies and werewolves have never lived with one another but I am both and I would love to have both my kind together as one" I say
"You are all welcomed to be apart of Redwood Pack" Dad says, I smile at him
"I'm in" Kat says winking at me then more and more join in, by the end more than half of the fairies joined me while the rest decided to go solo to find a new home on their own.
"Alright then, Redwood, Black Moon, Red Moon out!" Mrs. Black says in her Alpha tone making us all move, the fairies just follow me not affected by her command.

One Week Later

I look around seeing fairies and werewolves mingling, this first week has been weird but everyone is starting to relax and getting along great. Steve left back to his pack three days ago with Cindy, since they're mates she decided to go with him to meet his parents and Mason also left having me convince him to after they left. Everything is finally back to normal and I haven't felt so relaxed in a long time. I lay on the hammock sighing as I close my eyes and sway
"Hi baby" I let out a small scream opening my eyes seeing a grinning Mason
"You ass! You scared me!" I say making him laugh, he pecks my lips smiling like an idiot
"I missed you I couldn't resist the urge to come see you" He says, I roll my eyes but smile
"Cute" I say, he winks
"I know I am" He says then gets on the hammock with me after I get in a sitting position on it, we sway together and he holds my hand playing with my fingers
"Whats on your mind?" I ask, he looks at me
"I want us to be together" He says
"We are together" I say
"I mean, together together. Same roof over our heads, me not having to run miles on miles to see the love of my life but just turning over at the crack of dawn to see her beautiful face next to me" He says, my heart flutters at his words
"You want to make Redwood and Black Moon one?" I ask, he nods reaching over to my forehead moving a stray hair away from my face ever so softly
"You know we haven't had sex" He says, I turn red and smack his arm making him chuckle
"I am a guy, I have urges" He says shrugging making me laugh a little
"God I love you" I say making him smile wide
"And I love you" He says coming in for a kiss, it's so gentle, so sweet, I savior it for as long as I can, smiling in between then we pull away resting our foreheads together.

A/N: Epilogue will be in two parts so two more chapters of Protecting Her then it's officially done!
