Chapter Nine

Mason Black

I see Drew come back out of the house after leaving Sarah in the safe room, then I'm tackled. Its a fairy, I jump on it and rip its arm off then I go for the head. I look up and see they are running away

"Get some prisoners!" I mind link everyone and we go after them, I tackle one off of Steve and scratch its side then hold him by the neck with my paw.

Steve shifts and knocks the vampire out
"Mind giving me a lift?" He asks, I roll my eyes but get low enough for him to get on me along with the vampire then I run back to the pack house and leave him by the entrance to the basement thats a place where Drew keeps prisoners.

I shift slipping on sweats then see Drew in his human form looking around at the few dead and injured members of our packs. Sarah's scent hits me, I look at the doors of the pack house to see her rushing out. She looks upset at the sight, she quickly goes to the closest injured warrior getting on her knees and taking his hand.

I slowly make my way over as she closes her eyes then mumbles some words and my eyes widen slightly as I see the mans injuries cleaned up and healing faster.

"Wow" I say, she looks up at me letting go of the guys hand
"I'm part fairy, I learned I could do that when my dad got injured once. I was eleven and in tears" She says, I offer her my hand to stand and she takes it
"Being fairy has its privileges" I say, she shrugs going over to one of the more badly injured people

"I wish I knew what I can do, you know? Like I have so much to learn but I don't know how to teach myself" She says, I nod understanding what she means
"What else can you do?" I ask after she's done mumbling whatever it is she mumbles

"I can feel what people are feeling, its good and bad" She says, I gulp and mentally curse
"Bad how?" I ask, she turns slightly pink and I smirk a little. I know how, I just want her to tell me.

"I can feel when people are, ya know" She says looking at me with a look trying to tell me without saying it, I raise a brow
"Feel what?" I act dumb, she catches on as she sees me smirk
"Horny" She says turning and walking away, I chuckle licking my lips as I follow her

"So, how am I feeling right now?" I ask, she looks up at me, she looks into my eyes and I feel like leaning in to finish what almost happened yesterday but I don't, I don't want to start something that won't be possible once we find our mates

"You feel tired, confused and slightly happy...that's a weird combination" She says, I shrug
"The happiness only started once we started talking" I say, she looks at me as I walk over to one of my pack members.

I place my hand on his shoulder and take some of his pain away, my veins turning black as I do and I groan a little, fuck.
"Thanks Alpha" He says, I nod standing up. I look over at Sarah to see her still staring at me
"You helping or not?" I ask, she snaps out of it and goes to someone else

Its night time already, I can't sleep. I've been turning for over twenty minutes until I finally sit up running my hand through my hair then rubbing my eyes.
"Mom" I mind link her, fuck hopefully she's still awake

"What's wrong Mas?" She answers making me sigh
"I can't sleep, can you help me" I say
"I'll be right up" She says, I furrow my brows
"I'm at Redwood, remember" I tell her then my door opens and my eyes slightly widen

"Mom" I say standing up and I hug her, she giggles rubbing my back
"Drew called us over after the attack" She says as we pull away, she places her hand on my cheek, her thumb creasing it
"Us?" I ask, she nods
"Your Dad, Uncles and I" She says, I nod then she sits us down handing me a cup of tea, tea she always makes when I can't sleep

"Mason, you and Steve are doing great. We aren't here because we think you're doing bad, you two are great alphas. We are just here because of what happened, the fog covering the sky and Sarah having a conversation with the voice that is said to be her father" She says, I sigh

"How did Dad and you do this? How did you all do this years ago" I ask, she smiles a little shrugging
"We all worked together, we are family and that's what helped us through it all. The love we all have for each other" She says

"Now get some rest honey, you'll need it" She whispers then kisses my cheek
"Love you Mom" I say as she goes to the door
"Love you too Mason" She says then leaves the room and I lay back sighing
"Goodnight Levi" I say
"Good night Mas" Levi answers and like that I'm out.
