Chapter Four

Mason Black

I pull up my sweats as I walk over to the window, my view of the pack house territory is amazing. I can see everything, I grab my towel dapping my chest dry then someone knocks

"Come in" I say looking away from the window to the door to see Sarah opening the door, she sees I'm shirtless and I see her gulp as she forces her eyes away from my chest making me smirk a little

"They want you downstairs" She says, I nod
"Alright," I pause to grab my tshirt slipping it on, "Lets go" I say and she leads me downstairs. I cant help looking at her ass as we go down the steps, Levi growls at me

"Respect the girl Mason. Mom didnt raise us like this" He says, true she didn't and she would've smacked me if she were here right now

"Finally Mason! You took forever" Steve says, I roll my eyes
"I like my showers bro" I say shrugging
"Everyones settled in Mas" Josh tells me, I nod

"Good, Sarah do you know if your dad has anything planned for tonight?" I ask, she looks at me and nods
"He told me we were going to have a bonfire so that the packs can all get to know each other and relax" She says, I nod then turn to my pack

"Black Moon! Tonight we will relax, but tomorrow morning, early like always, we will start to train and Dennis, Josh and myself will set you all in teams with Red Moon and Redwood warriors.
So enjoy tonight because you all know, I'm just like my mom when it comes to pushing you all to do better than you think you can do" I say, Levi talking loud and showing everyone we mean business

"Dismissed until tomorrow morning!" Dennis says then I see Steve also finished his little speech to his pack and we all split. I sit on a chair on the porch, Steve sits next to me sighing

"Do you feel strange at all?" He asks, my eyes go from our packs to him
"What do you mean?" I ask, he shrugs sliding down his seat a little

"The atmosphere I guess? I dont know but I feel weird here" He says, I look around the territory
"We aren't used to being on someone's else's land. We are Alphas, we are possessive, territorial. Maybe thats it" I say, he shakes his head

"Its not that, it's something else bro. I just can't explain it" He says then Sarah and another girl come up the house steps

"Alpha Mason, Alpha Steve" The girl says with wide eyes as she stares at us, I notice Sarah trying to hide her eye roll. Steve sits up right smiling that smile he always does to girls ever since middle school

"Hello, you are?" He asks turning on his so called charm, she turns pink and I try to cover my amused smile
"Cindy Simmons, Sarahs best friend" She says

"Oh, your dad is the Beta right?" Steve asks, she nods smiling
"It's nice to meet you Cindy" I say, she looks at me and turns pink again
"Nice to meet you guys too, its a pleasure" She says

"Okay, okay, Cindy they aren't big deals. It's not like you're meeting Justin Bieber for christ sakes" Sarah says, I raise a brow
"Justin Bieber?" I ask, she looks at me and nods shrugging

"He's hot and talented" She says, her saying that singer is hot bothers me for some reason but I shrug it off
"I'm hotter" I say shrugging, she laughs
"I hate to crush your dream but you're no where close to his good looks" She says, I hold in a growl

"Lets go Cindy" She says
"It was nice meeting you guys! See yall soon!" Cindy says as she's dragged inside
"Bro, you look like you want to kill someone. You good?" Steve asks, I growl making him jump. I shut my eyes taking a deep breathe

"Sorry bro, that wasn't meant for you" I say, he chuckles confusingly
"Maybe Levi needs to run around for a bit. When was the last time you let him out?" He asks, I shrug

"Two days?" I say unsure, Steves eyes widen
"Idiot! Thats too long! Come on, we are going for a run" He says, I sigh but follow him out to the open and we sprint into the trees then shift

"Levi, have some fun" I say, he grins
"Dont mind if I do" Levis says, I sit back and he runs off, Steve following, well his wolf, Dan. I smile as I feel Levi relax as he takes control, he feels free, part of me feels free.

I sigh as Levi runs around chasing things and rolling around, he fights with Dan for a bit then just as sun is setting we go back to the pack house shifting behind the trees and changing into sweats, I don't wear a shirt since I didn't find one. We came back just in time to start the fires

"There you two are. We set some warriors to take patrol tonight, the fairly older ones" Josh says
"They already know the territory and the Redwood and Red Moon wolves anyways" Kevin says, Steve and I nod
"Good job, now yall have to relax for the night" I say

"Mas is right, you two stress more than we do" Steve says making us four laugh, my eyes look passed my cousin to see Sarah with her friend Cindy laughing at whatever. Her hair is in a somewhat messy pony tail, shes in shorts and a knitted sweater. I'm snapped out of my trance by Levi

"Don't start crushing Mason, we are waiting for our mate." He says, I roll my eyes
"I know but it won't hurt to just check the girl out. I'm no virgin, you know that" I tell him, he shakes his head
"I told you to save yourself for our mate, but you didn't listen" He says

I shrug then am snapped out of my conversation with Levi by Steve
"Talking to Levi again?" He asks chuckling, I nod
"He just never gets tired of scolding me" I joke making Levi growl at me while Steve and I laugh

"Love you Levi" I link him, he just shakes his wolf head and relaxes under the tree as I sit on a piece of wood in front of the fire, Steve next to me, our betas, Josh and Kevin, and lead warriors, Dennis and Joan, next to us then Sarah and Cindy sit across from us but I try not to pay much attention to her as I stare at the fire in front of me.

Then the the older pack members of the three packs tell stories, elders of Redwood pack tell ancient war stories and stories of wars against other supernaturals that aren't vampire.

Through the stories I'd feel eyes on me, I know who it is but I make sure to act like I don't feel it since Levi is right. I'm older now, I don't want to just fuck, I want to love, to love the one the moongoddess made for me, my mate.
