Suzzanah's POV

As I quickly walked out of the restaurant, I couldn't help but feel flushed, flustered and more than a little bit exasperated. Right after Zuerien had said those words, he had bent down and pressed his lips to mine, much to my shock.

Thankfully, the shock had passed soon enough and I had immediately pushed him away. Much to my surprise and relief, he let me go and I had glared at him in disbelief before turning rushing out of the lounge.

He didn't call after me, nor did he follow me, but I couldn't forget the mysterious smirk on his lips or the dark, intense look that I had seen in his eyes just before I left. And it sent shivers down my spine, because it told me one thing, Zuerien Kai Royale was a man of his word.

I always get what I want

I ignored how my heart skipped a beat at the recollection of his words. It was truly unfair that how much the mate bond affected someone. It was like I was extremely annoyed at him but at the same I couldn't help but want to melt at his words.

Well, not this time

My fists clenched in determination, this time I would not back down and let him do whatever he wanted. I was still upset with him and his outburst. I was still unsatisfied with his decision. I refused to just fall into his arms and wag my imaginary tail at his every word.

Sighing heavily, I started to walk towards the cobblestone pathway when I heard a familiar voice call out, "Suzzanah!"

I turned my head to find Alpha Penson walking towards me. My eyes widened, "Alpha Penson", I said turning around to face him, "How are you?"

He smiled, "Fine, why?"

"Earlier today...when I showed you that crystal you-"

"Oh that", he said smiling, shaking his head, "Would you believe me if I said it was nothing?"

I shook my head and he exhaled a laugh, "I thought so"

"I'm not letting this go Sir", I told him honestly and he smiled at me, "I don't expect you to Suzzanah", he motioned towards the cobblestone pathway, "Shall we talk as we walk?"

"Where to?" I asked, "I thought you had work"

"I do", he replied, "I'm going to the infirmary to see Del and I thought you'd like to-"

"I'll come!" I said immediately making him smile knowingly and nod at me, "Let's go then"

I took a deep breath as we started walking down the cobblestone pathway towards the infirmary, wherever that was. I was glad that I was getting an opportunity to finally meet Delta Del in normal circumstances.
