Chapter 2

"Alice!" screeched the horrid voice of Selina Asher. "Coming m'lady" I called back. I carefully walked out of the kitchen and towards her 'glorified' room. Well, if you consider a room full with picture of herself and pink paint horribly painted on the walls glorified. As I was walking, I passed my oh so lovely brother. "Watch where you're going slut." he snarled at me. Oh yea. I also forgot to mention that Selina was the one that spread it and she also 'claimed with proof' that I have slept with every single unmated male in the pack. I think she was talking about herself though. Anyways, even my family doesn't respect me. Some pack members just bully me because I look different. I had long silver hair that always looked like silk. I had curves in all the right places. I just covered them with baggy clothes. Everyone out of the pack said that I was a beauty though.

My baggy clothes covered my bruises, scars, and the many other signs that I had been beaten. A huge white gash ran from my shoulder to my stomach. I remembered my brother slashing me with the knife because I had not cut the meat correctly.

I shook my head and returned to my task: getting to Selina's room. As I was turning into her hallway, I felt a sudden pain in my stomach.

Our mate, my wolf whispered.

I dropped to the floor in agony.

What about him? I urged her to explain.

He-he's mating. She sounded so heartbroken.

Mating. I was supposed to be in the spot of which ever slut he was making love to. I had dealt with his nightly escapes for a while, but mating was different. No marks yet, just the humans accepting each other. The wolves would only accept their true mates. Casual sex didn't count as "mating". I guess Alpha William had decided to make whichever person he was banging Luna. Tears streaked me face as I agreed with my wolf. This has gone too far. It was time for me to leave. I would die if I had to endure this pain.

I ignored Selina's demands for me to reach her room faster and ran to my cupboard and packed all my items. I didn't have to stay long because I didn't have much stuff to pack, considering I lived in a closet-sized room. I grabbed my duffle bag and shoved anything I owned into the bag, filling up only half of the bag. I then snuck into Alex's room and grabbed his savings, which was a thousand dollars at most. I would need this money if I want to survive.

After I made sure I had all I needed, I grabbed a piece of paper and wrote a note to my 'pack'.

Dear Blood Moon Pack,

I have had enough. I'm done with being your slave. You can try to but you won't ever find me. Maybe 1000 years later but not soon. Say goodbye to your slave. I'm leaving.

To my "mate" William.

I only have 4 words:

I accept your rejection.

I ran for hours, never stopping for anything except water and food. I slowed a lot more than I should have. Pain kept erupting in my stomach as I ran. My wolf whimpered in pain as I ran.

Hurry! She begged. The farther we are, the less pain there is.

I pushed myself even harder, hearing her pained voice. We had to get away. If she continues to feel this pain, she might not make it. That thought alone had me sprinting at my full speed. We made a day's trip in just one hour.

I collapsed at the edge of the forest, my strength completely depleted. My fur was coated with dirt and leaves. Blood spots showed on my silver fur as I was whacked with branches. My wolf was in too much pain to even talk to me. All I could hear was her whimpers of sadness and hurt. That made me mad. No one hurts my wolf and leaves unscathed. But I knew that if I returned now, I would get a beating that could kill me. I would get revenge someday, but that day is not today.

I rested for a couple of hours before running again. I had to get as far as possible from the Red Moon pack territory. My scent was mixed with the rouge scent now, so I had to be careful when coming near pack territories. I had a few wolves chase me when I accidentally crossed into the land, but I was able to outrun the patrol. I had the company of wild wolf packs a few times, and rouges that were out for blood. But again, I was able to either avoid the rouges or make friends with the wild wolves.

Avoid them. My wolf advised me to stray away from the natural animals such as crows and ravens as I ran through forests. Deer and horses already ran from my presence already so I didn't have to worry about them.

Running quietly soon got boring. Only the sounds of nature were there to accompany me as I ran. Even then, the silence of my wolf scared me.

Are you okay? I asked her.

She hesitated before nodding in my head. I sighed at her simple response. I could tell that she wasn't okay. She was in pain but she didn't want to show it. She made no move to start another conversation so we were running in complete silence again.

I was too busy trying to get farther away from the Red Moon territory that I didn't even remember my basic needs. It was finally brought to my attention when my stomach started growling at me. My legs were weak as I continued to run. I couldn't stop here. It was too close to a pack territory. I would have to find a free field. I hunted some deer until both my wolf and I were full. Then, we returned to running. Our goal now was just to survive.
