2017- End of July

It has been a while now since the little incident. The group was ready for their performance during the showcase, it's just more practising to perfect it.

You were currently stressing out to the point that you're close to breaking. This was absolutely beyond your expectations, you were called in by the same staff member that called Chan back in June.

"I know this is very sudden for you... but PD-nim wanted to make some adjustments. I'm sure you've heard about the current project- the mnet survival show?" The lady pushed up her glasses while looked up to meet your eyes

"Yes, I am aware." You squeezed in an awkward smile, having a bad feeling bubbling in your insides, it can't be...

"PD-nim has specifically requested you to join the project girl group no.2. He has been aware of you, you and Chan to be precise. You two have trained in JYP for a good while, he believes that you would fit well in the project group, being the centre." She said with a confident smile

No...

No... It can't be.

You were dumbfounded. Gob smacked as your dad might have put it. You finally have the chance of debuting...You were even noticed by PD-nim, all those years of building up is starting to pay off.

Wow... That means you're doing two shows. One for the dance unit and maybe girl group no.2!

But wait, why does this feel different from what you expected. You should feel happy, over the moon! But there was a pang of guilt...

Channie...

You'll be going up against them, fighting over the spot to debut. No doubt, it bring some thing between the two of you. You can't afford to lose him...you just can't.

"PD-nim really sees potential in you and he really wants you to be a part of the debuting team." She seems to see the doubt in your eyes

"Putting formalities aside. I see so much potential in you, in all honesty, you should have debuted by now." That caught you by surprise, you already can see it now. She's one of the PD-nims in charge of the project... No, she was one of the writers behind 'Sixteen'.

"I don't get why you and Chan were neglected until now... Anyways, this is a very good opportunity for you to debut. You are the missing piece of the puzzle and make the chances higher for girl group no.2 to debut.
I understand you and Chan are friends but in reality this is how the industry works." She held your shaking hand that was on the table

"You deserve it...Y/N. Please consider it and tell me your answer in two days. Time is running short."She gave you an encouraging squeeze and picked up her clip board along with the coffee mug and left you in the room with your thoughts running in a thousand directions

One day left until you need to give her an answer. You can't bring yourself to tell Chan and the rest of the group. It would be like a stab in the back, that's the last thing you want... Betrayal.

You tried to keep your mind off for now and decided to practise the last of your unit's routine alone in front of the mirror. Trying to get your moves as sharp and accurate as possible. When the song came to an end and your did your ending pose, you realised it's passed 2pm and nothing was in your belly.

You had your back against the walls while finding a packed lunch somewhere hidden in your bag. You took out the bun and chewed on it, earphones plugged into your phone, monitoring your dance moves that you recorded since you came in today.
