I Like-Like you

Mia's POV

The whole car ride back was silent. I looked at him a few times and took in every detail. He was wearing a pair of black sweatpants and a light blue t-shirt. He had a relaxed face, unlike other times where he's stiff and emotionless.

We get home and enter the apartment. He goes to the kitchen and asks "are you hungry? Do you want to eat something?"

"No, Dylan we should talk" I say as I take a seat on the couch

"Ya we should" he answers and comes over to sit beside me

We sit in silence for a few minutes until i break it
"Dylan, what's happening? What's going on with us?" I ask him as I look up to meet his eyes. His icy cold blue eyes that now were warm and bright

He takes a minute to respond. "I don't know" he answers and rubs his eyes

"Your mom called me. She gets back next week which means-" he cuts me off

"Why don't you just stay here with me?" He asks as he leans closer to me. I was sitting on the couch with my legs both up and Dylan was also on the couch beside me with his legs crossed.

"I need to know where we are first, because we can't just ignore what has happened the past few days Dylan. Maybe you can but I can't. I need to know if that kiss meant anything to you because it did to me" I say as I look back up at him and meet his eyes

He grabs my hands and holds them and looks at me. He takes a deep breath and begins to talk "Mia, I really like you. Your beautiful, smart, pretty and you like to argue... a lot." He says and I laugh. He continues "I care about you, and I'm afraid that whenever you leave that elevator, you won't come back, or you'll get hurt, or that you'll-" he stops talking and looks back at me

"The point is, you make me go crazy. What I feel for you, I have never felt for anyone and I didn't want this feeling to stay. I wanted to get rid of it because I know that I don't deserve you. Mia you deserve someone better, and amazing just like you. I'm not good for you, but yesterday, I couldn't keep telling myself that. You walked into my office and I couldn't hold myself any longer. I had to kiss you. I just had too. And for a brief moment, my life felt complete. It was complete.
Until the whole stupid... ugh fuck. I'm sorry Mia. You don't understand. I never meant to kiss Sarah. She just came up, I haven't seen her in 2 years and I wasn't sure what she wanted. She just comes in and starts to take of her shirt and I was about to kick her out but she throws herself at me and kisses me and that's when you came in. I swear to god Mia, I wasn't trying to hurt you. I'm so sorry." He says as he brings my hands and kisses them with guilt and sadness in his eyes.

I pull my hands away from his lips "Dylan, it's ok. I feel the same way about you. Ya you're a pain in the fucking ass at times" I say as I roll my eyes and laugh. "But you're sweet and nice. And I like that side of you. It honestly did hurt me to see you with another girl. Especially after our 'encounter' from earlier that day" I say as I look down onto my lap

He takes his hand and raises my chin to meet my eyes with his. "I really like you Mia. Please stay, we can try to work whatever we have out." He says as he looks deep into my eyes. I honestly could look at him forever and not get bored.

I take a deep breath in, "ok" I say.
He puts his head on my lap and lays his feet across the sofa. We sit there in silence and I play around in his hair. The silence wasn't the kind of awkward or weird silence. It was a nice silence. When you're just enjoying the company of one another and don't want the moment to end. He closes his eyes and I continue to play in his hair. He looked so peaceful, and I couldn't stop staring. He was like an art piece, confusing but when you look at all the details, you see the meaning behind it. The longer I looked at Dylan, the more I could see the true him and the good inside.

I was starting to really like Dylan. Like, 'like-like' him.
