Mum and I talked and ate a while longer until she was called to do some tasks. I tagged along with her and got to see how she ran things, she was a literal boss. She told everyone what to do without hesitation and none of them argued, she was not unkind but her tone was firm. Her, Mal and Colensa were like a well oiled machine when they got together and that's when I met back up with Emy. She smiled and linked her arm in mine as we followed our mum's around the second floor.

"Having fun?" I asked while we waited in the corridor.

"Yeah, kinda."

She went on to tell me what she'd been doing with her mum and the conversations they'd been having. I had expected her to say there had been lots of crying but they seemed to have had a good time. There were a few similar discussions to the ones we had had. Emy's mum had been suspicious of her and some mystery guy, especially after the conversation about an audience with Jaleel.

Emy had to tell her about me and Blaike, which she apologised for but I waved it off. It didn't really matter, we didn't mind people knowing and it stopped her mum from being suspicious. Once she was done I told her about the conversations I'd had with my mum, she laughed about the one concerning Blaike. And then her jaw dropped as wide as mine had when I told her about the ages of my parents.

She ambushed her mum when they walked out into the corridor.

"Mum, there is no way that you're one hundred and ninety years old!?"

She must have worked it out after my dad said Colensa was two years younger, but she was so blunt it made me laugh loudly. My mum must have told Colensa about our talk because she glanced at my mum, then me and then to Emy before she responded.

"Yes, I am and your dad is two hundred and one before you ask."

Emy's jaw dropped wide and she swore loudly, her mum clipped her shoulder and she laughed.

"Sorry but that's just weird, plus that makes him like eleven years older than you."

"Yes it does, but once you reach twenty-one age really does not matter, not when we live to the ages that we do."

Emy swore again and ducked out of her mum's reach, I laughed until my mum cleared her throat.

"We have more things to attend to, I do not think you will enjoy them so how about we meet you both at dinner?"

We agreed and watched them walk off before we started discussing their ages. Neither of us could believe our parents were that old.

"How old do you think we'll live to?" I asked Emy as we walked down the stairs to look outside.

"I don't know but let's go back to our world in thirty years and scare the crap out of Dave."

We chuckled, joking about his reaction and what it would be like to live that long without aging. We stopped when we reached the front door, the level of snow had sunk but the temperature was still freezing. We closed up the door and lingered in the hallway.

"What do you wanna do now?" Emy asked.

There wasn't much to do when we were confined to the house. I had too much on my mind to be able to enjoy reading and Emy couldn't stay still long enough to make something.

"Let's go find the guys and torment Kayle about that letter." Emy suggested and ran off before I could tell her to go easy on him.

I followed regardless and we searched the house for the guys. We finally found them in the classroom we frequented, they were working over some papers but they stopped abruptly when we walked in.
