After the events of Lyra's fifth year, it's no doubt that she and her friends have changed. But with pressure to join the coming war, how will their 6th and 7th year continue to affect who they are? Lyra Knight must face the dark and light in her life to find out all while protecting what she has grown to love: Blaise Zabini.
Blaise wishes he could escape his reality. The reality that expected him to mark his arm come his graduation. His only hope is the end of the war before it even begins. But as times get darker he realizes that it won't be that easy for him, things never are. And now he has someone to protect: Lyra Knight.
Both Lyra and Blaise wish they could go back in time to when life was easy and they were young and free. Where they could be wild and stubborn and happy. But the timing of their lives just isn't right as a darkness cuts between them and they have to decide whether to run or stand tall against their biggest challenger yet: a war.
