Eventually, Pengmo finished his task. He gave the two pieces of satin to Su Tang, asked her to make the clothes, and then left the fabric store.

"Congratulations, Miss Tang." When Pengmo left, Mrs. Wang congratulated Su Tang jubilantly.

Su Tang looked at her with a slightly chilly smile. "Mrs. Wang, congratulations to you too."

While they had been negotiating and before the final decision was made, Mrs. Wang had interrupted several times from the side whenever Pengmo and Su Tang seemed to be about to touch on the specific amount that she would be paid for the clothes. Su Tang had of course seen through the reason why instantly.

When Mrs. Wang heard Su Tang say that, her smile turned a little strained and she said, "Miss Tang is too polite."

When she saw the older woman's strained smile, Su Tang just smiled gently. She couldn't care about some things. She knew that if it hadn't been for Mrs. Wang she wouldn't have been able to get today's job, so she had no choice but to let herself 'be fooled'. However, she also needed to remind Mrs. Wang that she wasn't actually a fool.

Naturally, Mrs. Wang understood Su Tang's meaning, so it was difficult for her to say anything. At any rate, there was no way that she would let go of the money that was already in her hands.

After everything was discussed clearly, Su Tang had nothing else to do in town, so she put away both pieces of satin and left Mrs. Wang's shop.

Mrs. Wang watched her small back departing and pursed her lips. That Miss Tang was very young, but her eyes were very fierce. However, no matter how fierce she was, it was useless. This time she could only swallow it down and let her skim some money in the middle.

With that thought in mind, a small smile played around the edges of Mrs. Wang's lips. Just then another guest walked into the store and Mrs. Wang went forward to greet them with her usual line, "What kind of fabric do you need?"

After Pengmo came out of the fabric store, he didn't go very far. He just walked over to a teahouse not far from the fabric store and reported: "Young master, everything has been arranged."

"Well, it's all done then. What about the matter regarding the money?" Pei Xuan poured himself a cup of tea and at the same time his face furrowed into a frown. It seemed that he couldn't even find a proper cup of tea in this backwater place. He really didn't know why teacher had to come here. Was it just because this was the place where his wife used to live?

When Pengmo heard that question, he said, "Whenever I tried to mention the money, I was interrupted by Mrs. Wang. However, the little Tang girl seemed to know what was going on and she didn't say anything about it."

When the young man, who was still drinking tea, heard that he gently set down his tea bowl. "She knows that Mrs. Wang is fooling her but she still cooperates with her, isn't she stupid?"

Pengmo felt that he could not answer that question, ah~. In fact, without Mrs. Wang, Miss Tang wouldn't have gotten the job at all.

When they were eavesdropping yesterday, the young man heard Mrs. Wang misquoting the price to Su Tang, so he had told Pengmo to make the actual price clear when he met with Miss Tang today.

Pengmo had really tried to mention it several times but Mrs. Wang always stopped him, and Miss Tang seemed to see what was going on but didn't say anything, so in the end, he didn't manage to say the real price.

Pengmo had been working as a servant for a long time so, naturally, he understood that things weren't so easy for Su Tang. His young master only thought that Mrs. Wang was hiding the real price, so he wanted to expose that, but he didn't think about what would happen if it was really exposed. In reality, it may not benefit Miss Tang at all.

After all, Miss Tang really was an excellent craftsman, so she may have more opportunities to make money doing jobs introduced by Mrs. Wang in the future.

Because of those thoughts, Pengmo hadn't gone out of his way to expose Mrs. Wang no matter what. He felt that, even though Miss Tang was young, she could probably see these kinds of things clearly.

Pei Xuan, seeing that Pengmo didn't agree, grunted angrily, tossed some money on the table, and then left the teahouse with Pengmo trailing behind him.

When they went out, they happened to see Su Tang coming out of the fabric store. The little girl had her small bamboo basket on her back and the two big pieces of satin in her hands, moving along the road at a snail's pace.

Didn't that little money-grubber know that she could hire a carriage? Pei Xuan watched her departing back and gritted his teeth.
