Moreover, Su Tang was very skilled at reading a person's heart and was able to say out the things that Luo Xingchen was secretly the most worried about.
After all, although Luo Xingchen currently controlled part of the Luo family businesses, the truth was her father had the real power. So Luo Xingchen threw out her final offer. 20% was just too small of a cut but, in consideration of the business of the tomatoes and chili peppers, 30% was just barely doable.
Su Tang read the other woman's expression and knew that this was the bottom line that she could accept. In fact, most of the raw materials for Su Tang's soap are all came from her space, so there wasn't really any associated cost. At most, she would have to buy some alkali noodles from time to time, but they weren't a large part of the recipe so they could practically be ignored as an expense, all of which mas to say that her own costs were very low. And while it sounded like giving the Luo family 30% of her profits was a lot, she would get to keep 70% and on top of that, she would have access to a much bigger market. This deal was obviously very good for her.
Su Tang then smiled and said, "It seems you really have an eye for good things, or else how could your Luo family become so powerful? But, what should we do in the case of a breach of contract?"
In fact, this was already an implicit agreement to Luo Xingchen's terms.
"Does that mean you want to sign the contract?" Luo Xingchen breathed a sigh of relief and smiled. Then she said solemnly, "What I, Luo Xingchen, have promised you, no matter what it is, will never be broken."
"I have your word then?" Su Tang probed.
Luo Xingchen nodded. "You have Luo Xingchen's promise, no matter who 'Luo Xingchen' ends up as or what he does. Whether I become the head of the Luo family, or if I fall down to the bottom and have to claw my way back up from the beginning, I will never break my word."
"Excellent!" Su Tang smiled at Luo Xingchen, "So long as you don't break our contract I will also uphold my end."
Even though Luo Xingchen was a woman born in this feudal era, if she could really do as she said, she was practically a modern soul. That being the case, what couldn't the two of them accomplish together?
Luo Xingchen reached out her hand and Su Tang shook it firmly. They both looked at each other and smiled.
Then the two of them drew up their contract right then and there and formally established their future cooperation.
In the future, Su Tang would be responsible for making the soap and the Luo family of Beikou would be responsible for selling it. 30% of the profits would go to the Luo's while Su Tang would get 70%. The Luo family was not to participate in or interfere with the soap production, and they would settle what they owed to Su Tang once every three months.
As for the business regarding the tomatoes and chili peppers, although Luo Xingchen had privately reached an agreement with Su Tang, she still needed to go back and explain things to the head of the Luo family and get his approval. So after they signed the contract, Luo Xingchen was prepared to go home that very afternoon to inform her father.
"How long have you rented this courtyard for? Lend it to me while you're away." After they had finished discussing everything and Luo Xingchen was preparing to have lunch and then head home, Su Tang suddenly remembered something and asked Luo Xingchen to lend her the courtyard.
"I've already paid to rent this place for three months. If you want to use it, just go ahead." Luo Xingchen responded generously.
"Thank you." Su Tang thanked her with a smile.
Luo Xingchen was distracted by the scent of the Hot and Sour Grilled Fish that had been simmering this whole time and steadily getting more and more fragrant, so she didn't reply. Instead, she gulped and sent one of her attendants out to get another bowl of rice, eager to finish the rest of the dish before leaving for home.
When she saw the gluttonous look in Luo Xingchen's eyes, like she was ready to battle with the grilled fish until the very end, Su Tang couldn't help but laugh.
