Ved Vyas was present in the Mandap. The marriage took longer than usual, as Draupadi was marrying 5 men. They even took extra vows in order to keep their marriage on the path of Dharm. It was decided that no other wife of the Pandavas will enter the city where they and Draupadi will be living, Also Draupadi will be spending one year with each of the Pandavas, the others are not allowed in her room for that year and if they do they will have to go in exile for 12 years to show remorse.
“KINTU BHAGWAN VED VYAS, SAMBANDH KA ADHAR TOH SMRITYO SE HOTA HAI, DRAUPADI KAISE SABKO BARABAR KA PREM DEGI ?” Shikhandini asked an important question.
“MAI, PRATYEK VARSH KE ANNT MAI KATHIN TAPASYA KARUNGI , USS VARSH KE SAMBANDHO AUR SMRITYO KO BHULANE KE LIYE AUR APNI AATMA KO PAVITRA KARNE KE LIYE.” Draupadi said.
“KEVAL TUM HI NAHI, HUM SAB BHI YEH TAPASYA KARENGE.” Arjun said.
The wedding rituals started, first with Yuddhistir and then again with Bheem, so on with rest of the pandavas. Amarsri for the first time was not sure if she did the right thing not letting Karna marry Draupadi, but Mahabharat was inevitable it would happen even if she did or did not, even if Karna is on their side or not.
The Pandavas then together took the Churamani with 5 stones engraved in it , symbolising the Pandavas, they placed it on Draupadi’s head, Draupadi had tears in her eyes but didn’t let even a drop fall, she had to be strong otherwise this marriage won’t work out. They started taking blessings from everyone. Draupadi came near Amarsri and joined hands.
“HASTINAPOOR MAI TUMHE BAHUT KUCH SUNNA PADEGA DRAUPADI, BAHUT KUCH SEHNA PADEGA. LEKIN KABHI APNA MANOBAL MAT TODNA, YEH BAAT GARV SE SWIKAR KARO KI PAACH PANDAV TUMHARE PATI HAI, PAACH PANDAV TUMHARE PRATI SAMARPIT HAI. ISS VIVAH MAI TUMHE AAPNA SHAURYA DIKHANA HAI.” Amarsri said keeping a hand on her shoulder, a tear fell from Draupadi’s eyes but Amarsri wiped it away, they both embraced each other tightly.
They all got their blessings and left to Hastinapoor, Krishna and Amarsri also left for Dwarika in the Swarnarath. Krishna was riding it, Amarsri didn’t talk to him the entire way, and it bothered him.
“KYA HUA PUTRI, ITNI CHUP KYU BAITHI HO ?” Krishna asked breaking the silence.
“DRAUPADI KA VIVAH MAINE ANGRAJ SE KYU NAHI HONE DIYA ?” Amarsri asked as a tear fell from her eyes.
“YAHI USKI NIYATI THI.” Krishna said.
“NIYATI TOH BADLI BHI JAA SAKTI HAI NA.” Amarsri said.
“DRAUPADI NE PICHLE JANM MAI TUMHARE PITA MAHADEV SE AISA VARDAN MAANGA THA.” Krishna said. Amarsri knew about it.
“KINTU ISKA YE ARTH TOH NAHI NA KI PAACH GUN KE KARAN PAACH LOGO SE VIVAH HO, AUR BADE BHAIYA USKO DAAV PE BHI LAGA DENGE, WOH ASHIRWAD, SHRAAP KYU BAN GAYA?” Amarsri said.
“AGAR DRAUPADI NA HOTI TOH YUDDHISTIR APNI DUSRI PATNI KO DAAV PE LAGADEGA, KISI EK STREE KO TOH APMAAN SEHNA HI PADEGA.” Krishna said. Amarsri fell silent.
They both reached Dwarika, they greeted everyone and then Amarsri went to her room and locked herself for the entire day. She cried her heart out, angry at Mysoginistic people, cursing the mentality of this day and age, there was only one question in her mind ‘why its always women that pay ?’
It’s been 3 days since the wedding, A news reached Dwarika that the Kururashtra is been divided into Hastinapoor and Khandavprasth. Khandavprasth been taken by the Pandavas and Yuddhistir was crowned him its King. But Khandavprasth was still not free and Dhritrashtra gave them permission for Nagar Puja but didn’t let Kunti go with her sons fearing that the Pandavas might wage war against them, but won’t if Kunti was in Hastinapoor. Karna didn’t like it at all. The Pandavas when came in Hastinapoor accepted him with open hearts and apologized to him at least a hundred times.
“JYESHT HUME KSHAMA KARDE.” Yuddhistir said.
“MAINE AAPKO MAARNE KI PRATIGYA LI THI, MAI KSHAMA NAHI DAND KA ADHIKAARI HU, MUJHE DAND DIJIYE JYESHT.” Arjun said tears falling from his eyes.
“NAHI PRIYE ARJUN, WOH STITHI HI KUCH AISI THI, MAINE BHI TOH TUMHARE PRAN LENE KA PRAN LIYA THA, MUJHE BHI KSHAMA KARDO.” Karna said.
“DOSH MERA HAI, PUTRA KARN KYA TUM KABHI APNE MATA KO KSHAMA KAROGE.” Kunti said joining her hands and sobbing.
“MAINE TOH AAPKO USSI DIN KSHAMA KARDIYA JIS DIN MUJHE SATYA KA BODH HUA THA.” Karna said holding her hands.
“JYESHT KYU NA AAP HUMARE SAATH CHALE.” Draupadi said.
“NAHI PANCHALI, DURYODHAN KA MUJH PAR RIN HI, MAI NAHI CHAL SAKTA.” Karna said pointing at his crown.
“HUME SABKO YEH BAAT BATA DENI CHAHIYE.” Nakul said.
“NAHI, MATA KE SAMMAN KI BAAT HAI, ISSE CHUPE REHNE DO.” Karna said.
The Pandavas with Draupadi left Hastinapoor the next day. Karna started to grow distant from Duryodhan and Duryodhan too started growing distant from him as Karna's enmity with Pandavas ended. Without Shakuni, Duryodhan was just a warrior with no brain, he made the biggest mistake of his life.
“MITRA, RAJMATA KO PANDAVO KE SAATH JANE DO.” Karna said coming in his room.
“TUM BHI AB PANDAVO KE SAATH HOGAYE.” Duryodhan said.
“MAI PANDAVO KA NAHI DHARM KA SAATH DE RAHA HU, SHATRU KI MATA KO BANDHI BANA ADHARM HAI, AUR ISME MAI TUMHARA SAATH NAHI DE SAKTA.” Karna said. Duryodhan threw the table aside and walked up to him.
“DHARM-ADHARM KI BAAT MUJHSE KARTE HO, BHUL GAYE KITNA RIN HAI MERA TUMHARE UPAR, JAB KALA PRADARSHAN MAI TUMHARA TIRASKAR HUA THA TAB MAINE TUMHE ANGA KA RAJA BANAYA THA, BHUL GAYE SAB ?” Duryodhan said, Karna was not able to believe his ears.
“BHULNA MAT KI TUM AAJ JO HO MERE WAJAH SE HO, AUR MERE BINA TUM KEVAL EK SUTPUTRA HO.” Duryodhan said. Karna gave an empty chuckle. He came towards him and took out his crown and placed it in his feet.
“MAI YEH ANGA RAJYA AAPKO WAPAS DETA HU RAJKUMAR, AB MERE SAR APKA KOI RIN NAHI AUR NAAHI KOI MITRATA.” Karna said and left to Khandavprasth on a horse.
