His Angel

Angel & Her Hero

I sit there as the tears had finally stopped falling. Vienna and Ryker left sometime ago. More likely I pushed them out Vienna wanted to stay but I knew the stress wasn't good for her so I asked her to leave with Ryker.

It took alot of convincing but they left. I look at Arianna and kiss her forehead as i get up to leave when I suddenly hear her whispher 'Daddy'. I turn around with lightening speed to see her sleeping.

I might have imagined it I think start to leave but this time I stopped by something which freezes me on spot 'Your not my dad'. I look up to from the floor to see her still asleep with tears staining her face.

I understand the situation quickly and hurry towards her but stop in my step as I remember the fear in her eyes. What if she gets more scared ? What if it was me who she was talking about in her dream ? I stand as all the What ifs keep on coming in my mind and clench my fists at my irony.

Then suddenly she screams and says 'Daddy' as she sits up waking from her dream. I feel her eyes connect with mine as my heart aches  looking at her tear stained face. I feel like all the What ifs dissappear and it's like my heart says 'F*** it'.

I run towards her as I quickly envelope her in a tight hug . I hold her close to me all the while just saying sorry to her. She wraps her hands around my neck as she buries her tearstained face in my t-shirt. I kiss her forehead as i caress her hair with my hand.

I break from the hug as I make sure not to touch her wound. Then I wipe her tears away with my thumbs as she looks at me then she says 'Daddy you aren't going to leave right ?'. I look into her eyes as she says this which were filled with loads of insecurities.

I look at her as I say 'I am not going to leave Arianna. N.E.V.E.R. I am sorry you had to see me like that earlier. I am sorry I understand if-if you want to leave an-and go back. But I won't ever leave you.' My voice breaks at the thought of losing my angel. Within a few weeks time she has become my everything.

I don't realize when a tear falls but all I know is she wipes it away with her tiny hand as she says 'Daddy you are the best daddy in the wrorld (world). Why would I l-leave you ? And please don't feel sad I don't like it when you are sad. And you know today was a good day. Today I saw my hero protecting me from a bad monster just like he did be-before. I just got scrared (scared) when I saw you fighting off the monster cause I was scrared(scared) you would get hurt. I am sorry for making you sad. I love you daddy !!'.

She then hugs me again as I wrap my huge arms around her tiny frame feeling like a huge rock has been lifted from my heart. I shake my head as I feel stupid for thinking all the rubbish I thought earlier. All the while I thought that fear was from me but I was wrong it was for me.

Today alot of stuff happened but I am happy because it ended well. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that my angel called me Her Hero. People say alot of stuff about me being a devil and all but for my Angel I will become her hero again if she wants me to be.

Now I truly understand what dad said when he said that I will realize when I have my own daughter.

I understood it dad....It's all clear now...

I sit there holding Aria in my embrace as I feel millions of emotions flowing through me. For a second I felt like my own self...my old self....just Ray not Raymond or Mr.Moore just Ray.

I thought I would help Arianna get better but here she is the one consoling me and changing me for the better. She is truly an Angel....My Angel...

I break from the hug as I say 'Okay now no more crying....lets enjoy the rest of the day okay?!'. She giggles at this and says 'But I was not crying'. I fake a gasp as I say 'Oh you naughty little girl you just wait' as I stop her from running away and start tickling her.

While laughing she says 'D-Dadd-y st-stop hahaha st-stop s-sorry'. I laugh along her and say 'Then say I am the best'. She giggles as she says 'Your the best'. I stop tickling her as I fall down beside her on the bed.

We both get our breath back as we lay there. Then suddenly she  says 'Daddy' I look at her as I hum along. She then looks in my eyes with a mischievous look on her face as she says 'You were best for 2 minutes only' and quickly gets off the bed and runs off.

I shout behind her 'I am coming you just wait little devil'. I run out of the room as I check each and every room to find her that's when I hear shuffling coming from the theater room. I walk in the room as I say 'Hmm I wonder where my Angel is ?'.

I can hear her muffled giggles and I look around to see her hiding in the last row of seats. I quietly walk up behind her and suddenly pick her up in my arms. She shrieks getting surprised by my sudden action.

I laugh as I say 'Okay now I am not letting you go... what have you done with my sweet and innocent Angel huh ?' She giggles. I sit down on one of the chairs with her in my arms as I think of an idea as I say 'Want to watch a movie princess ?'.

She looks at me as she excitedly nods her head. I chuckle and say 'Okay then let's go and make some popcorns and maybe a bit of ice cream ? What do you say ?' She looks at me happily as she says 'Yes but with you'.

I smile at her as I kiss her forehead and nod. I then carry her to the kitchen where we make some popcorn and take some ice cream out. Then I carry it to the theater room and as Arianna wanted to help I asked her to bring the spoons which she happily brings.

And that's how we spent the left over day playing,smiling and spending time with each other. To be completely honest I wouldn't want it any other way.

That day I learned that you might have a bad start but the ending is always good and if it isin't then it is not the end. So wait for it I am sure your happy ending is out there waiting for you as well.
