Chapter thirty-three: "My Universe"

I woke up with Cloud not by my side
Where did he go so early in the morning?

My hand moved to the empty space beside me on the bed
It's still warm, which means he just got out of bed

Cloud must be somewhere in the penthouse so I stretched my arms as soon as I sat up on the bed and then stretched my legs when I stood up, I head straight to the bathroom to brush my teeth when all of a sudden when I was about to put my hand in the water I noticed that my pinky ring was gone

I took a closer look to find out that there was a ring on my ring finger
Did Cloud put this on me last night?

My hand reached to pull out the ring and I checked the interior which was still like the red string of fate but instead of having just a simple red string inside, it comes with a message in Italian

"Sei il centro del mio universo" (You are the center of my universe)

It was clear from the message that Cloud was the one who put this ring on me, a huge grin formed on ny face and I saw myself smiling in front of the bathroom mirror

After I hurried up on washing my face I ran to the living room to see if Cloud was there but he was not, the kitchen was empty too and so does the private library and the other guest rooms
He must have left while I brushed my teeth in the bathroom

I was still worried so I dashed through the halls and into the bedroom to grab my phone and called Cloud whose number was on my speed dial
He wasn't answering his phone

Panic rushed throughout my body since last night was too much information that was shoved into my brain that I needed to check to see if he was alright

Who do I need to call first!? I don't have Brian, Ken, or even Wallace's phone number

Since I was so worried I started getting ready to go out and went on a small search to find him in any possible spots in the city, I checked to all the places that we've been through during our dates and sadly he wasn't there

I was so busy searching for Cloud that I accidentally didn't see Wallace and Ken who waved at me, which made me stop walking to acknowledge the two "Have you guys seen Cloud?" I asked them and they shrugged

"Maybe he's in that place" Ken suggested to Wallace

"How about you visit the public library? he often goes there if he can't find anything in the university library"

"Thanks" I appreciate their small help before I ran to the public library and searched every aisle, especially the nonfiction area

Every person I ran by would give me strange stares and I didn't care at all so I tried to call him again but he didn't answer my call   
We just slept together last night so why is he not answering my call?!

While searching every word that Nick told me ran through my mind
No, no, He couldn't be doing that. Positive thoughts Penelope, positive thoughts

It was now noon and no word or call from him for the past 4 hours, my body felt like it was giving up on me so I decided to rest a little back at the penthouse. As I rest my body I called up Cheryl and she answered me "Hey"

"Have you seen Cloud? I haven't seen him anywhere for the past 4 hours" I asked her

"Maybe he went somewhere," Alice said

Daisy agreed with her "If you lost somebody just stay where you are and don't move to that location"

I chuckled a little "Daisy that only works for little kids that get lost in malls and grocery stores"
I'm running out of ways to find him and my legs felt tired from running and walking around so I guess I might try her suggestion as well
