Chapter ninety-five: "Awkward"

Nighttime arrived after we came home from going grocery shopping, Cloud was taking a hot shower while I was busy getting started cooking our dinner

The entire cabin is very warm and I liked it so I was barefoot walking around the kitchen and wore only light clothes, his clothes, and some new shorts he bought for me that is

I was busy chopping up some cherry tomatoes
I was making spicy spaghetti since we both have been craving pasta for a while

20 minutes passed and I was in the middle of stirring the sauce in a pot when I felt two strong arms hug me by the waist, Cloud rested his head on my shoulder to take a peek at what I was cooking "Smells good"

His hand started to reach for the ladle to have a taste test of the sauce but I lightly slapped his hand away "Uh uh, wait"

Cloud poured and sighed "Fine" but then he started to tie my hair up so he could pepper me with light kisses behind my neck which made me ticklish

I giggled "Alright stop that if I can't concentrate the whole kitchen might catch on fire" I turned ny head to face his resting head on my right shoulder where I was greeted with his striking forest green eyes

In the process of facing him, my nose also caught a musky scent with a hint of vanilla "You smell nice, did you put on some perfume or something"

He raised a brow "Nope, that's just my natural scent you're smelling. The vanilla scent is my soap and of course, I use the same shampoo as you" he chuckled

I stopped what I'm doing and let the sauce simmer a bit on the stove then turned my body around to smell him again, my body near him and my arms around his waist where I can tiptoe myself to smell his neck "I like it"

Before we could start chatting some more, there was a knock at the entrance door of the cabin. It caught Cloud's attention first "I should answer that" he kissed my temple then headed straight to answer the knock

While he was in the middle of answering the door, I turned off the stove
Dinners ready

So I set up the table, a few minutes passed and it was oddly quiet. With the table all set up, I headed straight to the front door to join Cloud "Love, it's time for dinner..."

I was caught off when I saw Theo and Sophia outside of the cabin, Sophia has her arm around Theo's arm while they both glanced at shocked Cloud who answered the door

Sophia smiled at her son "Can we come in?" Her sweet voice asked Cloud

Theo caught sight of me and I returned his glance with a threatening glare. He pretended to not see what I did and went back to looking at Cloud

Of course, Cloud did not hesitate to let both of his parents into the warm cabin home in contrast to the harsh winter outside. Sophia closed her eyes and sniffed the scent "That smells like pasta"

I grinned at her "Do you wanna have a bite?"

She nodded and Theo crossed his arms "As long as it tastes good" he muttered

"I'm not talking to you shitface, starve in the living room for all I care" I replied to him with a smile on my face leaving my boyfriend with wide eyes

"Uh Angel"

"Yes?" I asked him with bright eyes and a cheerful grin, he tried to say something but didn't proceed to say it because he saw how I like this type of setting

His mother although has other plans, Sophia gave Theo a side glare and he noticed what message she was trying to convey. A deep sigh escaped his mouth "Fine, I wanna join too"
Looks like they had a long conversation because unlike back at the Christmas party, I could sense that they fought a little
