"Oh, you gotta be kidding me." JJ says stressing. I pull JJ down so I can whisper to him. "JJ he knows my dad, I'm in deep shit if Rafe or my dad find out I'm here with you."
"You'll be fine." JJ says not completely sure as he decides to move away from me so I don't get it more trouble. I know I can trust JJ. I mean he knows I don't like my dad. He just doesn't know what they do to me. Or about my Rafe situation.
"Evening, officers." Pope says. The cops haven't noticed me yet.
"Evening." Shoupe responds.
"Here." Pope says to JJ.
"Evening." Kie says.
"JJ, tie it off." Pope tells the blond boy.
"How you kids doing? You know the marsh is closed?" Shoupe asks.
"No."
"No. Wow."
"I didn't know that."
"Why... why is it closed?"
"Well, we're conducting a search out here. Boat went down."
"Oh."
"Seen anything?"
"No."
"No boats. No." I finally say.
"Oh Evelyn didn't see you there." Shoupe says as he pulls me into a hug. "Now would you're dad be happy seeing you out here?" He ask me.
"Oh uhm. No he would not sir."
"Maybe you should come back to the station with me."
"I really can't do that sir."
"Sure you can." I look to the others for help.
"My dad isn't home, nor is my mom."
"Oh we can give Ward or Rafe a call. You and that boy make a cute couple."
"Yea we sure do." I say smiling. "But Rafe is busy and I don't talk much with Ward. I'm okay staying here."
"Okay. Where's your friend you always hang with? He here?"
"He's working."
"Hm. I'm gonna check your little boat out."
"Yeah."
"Yeah, hop aboard."
"You wanna check... uh, check her out."
"Thank you."
"Uh... you got another one?" Shoupe asks holding up a life jacket.
"Yeah."
"Yeah, yeah."
"Of course. It's, uh... it's in the hold."
"Yeah."
"Show him." I say elbowing JJs side and he walks over and shows him the rest.
"Okay."
"Yeah, here we go."
"All right."
"Yeah."
"Uh..."
"Be careful. Be careful. You don't wanna slip." I say as Shoupe goes to the edge and looks into the water.
"All right."

"All right."
"Beautiful day."
"Sure is."
"Very."
"Let us know if you see anything on your way out." Shoupe says starting his boat up.
