Chapter .16

Enid's POV:

I am proud to say that I have officially asked Wednesday to be my girlfriend 3 days ago. But we haven't told anyone yet specifically cause we aren't ready and I haven't even come out to my family yet which is so much more complicated than it seems.

Like when it's like really quiet in the car I just have the random urge to say I have a girlfriend. But my parents don't seem to be the type to be homophobic especially since my Uncle Terry does have a husband. He is very very boring to talk to though I don't know how his husband does it.

I don't know about Wednesday though. She hardly talks about her family well besides her mom. I've tried to convince her to come stay with me and my family a couple times because of her dad but she just declines the offer and says she doesn't want to be a burden. I just hope she's doing okay at home.

"Enid mom said you better get your ass up and get to school before you're late" my older brother said as he peeked his head through the door

"Brandon you know I didn't say that! I specifically told you to tell your sister to get out of bed before she's late" my mom shouted from downstairs

"That's practically the same thing" he shouted back rolling his eyes

"Can you get out of my room now?" I said grabbing by clothes

"One question is it true you actually have a girlfriend?" He whispered

Taking a deep breath, I asked nervously, "What? Who told you that?"

"Axton told me he heard you talking to some girl last night" he explained

Ugh why does he have to be born with such big ass ears?

"I was just talking to a friend about some project we have due tomorrow" I lied

"Oh okay I'll tell Axton" he said beginning to walk away

"Oh and tell Axton to mind his own business" I shouted

He turned around and gave me a thumbs up before disappearing.

Axton has got to learn to keep his mouth shut or I'm going to have Wednesday sew it shut for him.

Wednesday's POV:

"Hey I'm going to work a little early today. Need a ride?" Pugsley said as he stopped by my doorway.

"Um no I'm good thanks" I said as I laced my shoes

"Alright. Oh and by the way how's Enid?" He asked

"Um she's doing just fine why?" I asked looking up at him puzzled

"No reason" he shrugged. "Oh and be I'll be getting home earlier than usual so feel free to go somewhere after school if you'd like" he said with a smile.

"Thanks" I smiled back "you still free to give me a ride?" I asked as I grabbed my backpack

"Yup but we better hurry cause I think my boss hates me" he shuddered at the memory of her as we headed downstairs

"Yeah well if I knew you too I think I'd also hate you" I shrugged

"It's not required for me to drive you to school" he said sending me a glare

"I was just joking" I huffed rolling my eyes

"Yeah you better be" he huffed holding the front door open for me

"If you act like this at your job it makes complet sense on why your boss hates you" I said as I waited for him to lock the door.

"Look I know that you and Enid have a thing going on so you better watch your mouth" he pointed at me as he unlocked the car
