'In hindsight, I should have stayed hidden,' Jade mused as she put a hand under her chin, allowing Alan to continue his fast pace through the forest with her in his hand. 'Feel like it would have been less annoying that way.'
About three hours had passed since she had been in his grasp, letting him lead the way without much conversation. Since it allowed her to move around without wasting energy, Jade was okay with it at first. 'But now I am getting bored, and his palm is getting sweaty.'
"Where are we going?" Jade asked, hoping to kill some time. Alan took a single glance at her before focusing ahead. He thought about whether he was going to tell her or not.
"Originally, I was here to go hunting in the Moonlight celebration, but since I have you, I figure I might as well go and check out their food," Alan answered casually. Coming all this way without at least checking out the celebration that he heard other males being so energetic about would be a shame.
"That's great!!" Jade lit up in delight, ignoring the phasing in the word 'hunting.' The idea that people were celebrating during this time let her know that this world might be peaceful enough to allow them to live everyday lives. "I was planning on heading that way, I am getting excited."
"I am glad you are excited," Alan stated cheerfully as he suddenly stopped. Alan's smile flickered as he tilted his head to the side and furrowed his eyebrows as he looked down at her. "Hmmm, now that I think about it, how are we supposed to mate?"
"W-What?!" Jade stuttered, feeling her face turning hot at that question. Alan raised an eyebrow at her, not understanding which part of his question she does not understand.
"Well, you do understand that when a beastman and a female is satisfied with to each other's appearance, they would undre-"
"I DON'T NEED YOU TO EXPLAIN IT TO ME!" Jade snapped, covering her eyes in embarrassed about the whole situation.
"How are we supposed to mate?" Alan repeated, frowning. "I don't want none of those filthy southern beasts to think that you are available. It would be good for your safety and my sanity if you bear my mark."
"Wait, wow. Let's back this up. First of all, let me go," Jade demanded, causing Alan to tense up. "I need some space to figure out what is going on."
'I mean, who just goes and tells a person that they want to have sex with them at their first meeting!?' Jade thought, feeling embarrassed before thinking of Mama Zuzu's goofy smile. '........I guess it's not all that unusual.'
"No," Alan told her coldly as his calm demeanor had disappeared in the instance. Jade's nerves became awry as she watched as his face became slowly blank.
"I will not do that just for you to try and fly away from me."
"Hey, now I'm not going to ditch you," Jade tried to explain, ignoring how his grip tightened. "Your hand is all sweaty. It's really really gross."
