I finally got to open my eyes and coincidentally, a nurse walked in. She opened the window blinds revealing the blue sky and the sun which is just rising.

"Excuse me" I called and she turned to me.

"You're awake ma'am" She said before walking towards me. She checked my vitals and adjusted the IV before going out to call the doctor.

I sat up on the bed looking around the room but couldn't see any sign of my baby. Did my baby died? I thought and immediately I removed the IV hurting my hands in the process and stood up. A huge pain travelled through my stomach and that was when I remembered that I went through C.S. Moving my already weak legs, I walked to the door and opened it luckily to see Ayaan.

"Miskiyyah. You aren't supp..."

"Ayaan where's my child?" I asked years rolling down my eyes.

"He's fine. It's a boy"

"I need to see him" I said and he shook his head.

"You should be resting now." He said carrying me back to the bed before pulling the duvet over me.

"No. I need to see my son. Tell me what's wrong? Why is he not with you. I supposed to breastfeed him"

"Miskiyyah. You gave birth earlier than you supposed to and he was having difficulty in breathing by himself so..."

"He's inside an incubator?" I asked tears threatening to fall and he nod before pulling into a hug.

"About H..."

"Let's not talk about that for now okay?" He said and I nod.

"I'm sorry"

"He's handsome bah?" I asked and Ayaan nod.

"After all he took after his father" Ayaan boasted and I turned to him.

"What? I'm I not handsome"

"I didn't say otherwise"

"He resembles me a lot so that handsomeness comes with it"

"Says the man who accused his wife of adultery" My head snapped to the source of the voice to see Isma'il.

"Isma'il" I said "Isma'il apologize now cause I won't tolerate any insult from you to my husband" I said and he smirked.

"What do you take me for? A fool? Of course not. I have to tell you something but if you are busy or wants me to apologize to him, then maybe next time" He said turning to leave but I quickly stopped him.

"Isma'il we've settled this already so please just let it go. He was just angry when he said those words so please forgive him." I pleaded but he shook his head before leaving.

"Miskiyyah" Ayaan called and I turned to him. "Don't worry okay. He will come around" He said and I nod

It has been two weeks after my cs and I still haven't touched my child. Ayaan had touched him already when he was calling the adhan and iqamah into his ear and also performing the tahneek.

A/N: Tahneek is an Arabic word which means putting something sweet such as dates in the infant's mouth after birth. It is a noble practice in Islam with which the newborn is greeted upon entering into the world, usually before milk feeds.
