It took me 5 minutes to find my class and I knew I was late. I took a deep breath and pushed the door open. A lot of eyes were on me, I didn't bother to look at any of them. "Ah you must be Amelia, I'm Mr Carr" the muscly, bald teacher spoke. "Yeah I'm Amelia Banks, where do I sit?" I said still looking at the teacher. "The middle table at the back, now we all have partners for the new project" he smiled, as I walked to my seat my eyes were on my shoes, wolf whistles came from several boys and I just rolled my eyes.

When I got to my table I looked up to see very familiar blue eyes staring at me. Ollie. I just gave him a dirty look and took my seat next to him at the work bench. It annoyed me having him this close, he made me believe we were friends and then humiliated me, he could've just said we weren't friends back at my house and save me the humiliation.
I could feel his eyes on me for the longest time possible. "What?" I ask him "why are you here?" He questions. "I'm in this class, this is my other class I was telling you about on Saturday, oh do you remember Saturday? When we hung out and spoke all night, oh I guess not, since we're not friends" I spat at him. A flash of hurt appears in his eyes. "Look I'm sorry, the boys wanted to speak to you guys today but I thought you'd be better off without us" what did he mean? That made no sense. "Save it, you knew we'd ruin your reputation since we're outcasts and your popular and all" he raked a hand through his hair. "Look, it was scary how fast we got along, it took me months to befriend the lads and with you... and the girls, it was so easy, I won't lie though I wasn't sure how people would react if we hung out but then I realise none of them people mean anything to me, they're nobodies" he spoke and I crumbled inside, I didn't spit a comeback or insult back I simply just stared into his blue eyes whilst my eyes softened I gave a slight nod and I looked back at the teacher. "So class, the project this year is a big one" Mr Carr spoke and I smiled brightly getting excited already. "You must build a car from scratch with the pieces we provide although you can collect your own stuff as well, then you will be entered into a race we will be putting on here at college on the new running track. The winners of the race will be aloud 6weeks off college to travel around the UK to watch the championship car racing tournament, you will go to Scotland, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Wales and then the finale is back here in London. This is about partner work, everything you do will be with the person sat next to you." Excitement wasn't the word right now, I HAD to win, I mean 'we' I would be working with Ollie, I knew he was good with cars but he defiantly underestimates me. -----

Before I knew it, it was lunch and me Nina and Gabby were at our usual table, I told them about the project and Ollie's apology, they seemed a little happier than this morning. "If there was a band war between Arctic Monkeys and The 1975, Arctic monkeys would win everytime" Nina stated "no way The 1975, right Amelia?" Gabby looked at me with hope. "Sorry Gabby, but Arctics all the way." I couldn't lie to her. She pouted and me and Nina giggled. "Ma ladies" Dale spoke, we all whipped our heads to the three boys we were still mad at. I crossed my arms over my chest and raised my eyebrow. "We come in peace, truce?" Ollie asked as each boy handed us a smoothie each. I looked at Gabby and Nina for conformation but they were already grabbing their smoothies, I gave in and snatched it from Ollie's hand. "This doesn't mean we've fully forgiven you" I say as the boys sit down. Everyone went quiet for a few seconds and I felt hundreds of eyes on my table, then the buzzing of everyone's voices came. 'What are the guys doing with those outcasts?' I knew this would happen. 'They aren't even pretty why are they sat with those tramps' everything that was said didn't make me upset, I made me want to laugh. It was mostly girls talking because near enough every guy in college are scared of Ollie, Joey and Dale, they wouldn't be afraid to start a fight right now. "You don't have to sit with us" Gabby spoke as she was looking around at everyone staring. "Your the coolest girls we've met here, you's actually have personalities" Dale said with a laugh, what he said made me smile like an idiot. We chatted and laughed the whole of lunch despite all the stares and snide remarks being thrown at us.-----

It was the last class of the day which was dance, I got my gym bag from my locker and headed for the changing rooms with the rest of my dance class Gabby does dance too, Nina does drama. I got changed into my grey joggers and matching grey crop top and my grey AirMax that were in my locker. I put my hair in two French braids and heading into the dance studio with Gabby. It was street dance, my favourite. Mrs Bridge was the teacher. She did the usual warmup, sit-ups, plank, push-ups, stretching ect "Right were starting a new routine today ladies." we started the 'talk that talk' routine and I was in my element, I pushed myself every time we ran through it. I'm not bragging but me and Gabby are my far the best dancers in the class, we always got a spot at the front, most of the girls hated us for it. ------

After class was over I decided to keep my dance clothes on and my hair braided just to drive home in. I threw my gym bag, with my heavy boots in over one shoulder and it was weighing me down with all my other dance stuff, my purse and my clothes from today. I said bye to Gabby and Nina as they got in Nina's mum's car. I threw my gym bag in the passenger seat, plugged my phone into the radio and put 'clean bandit- real love' on then started my drive home. I put my window due to my clammy self from dance before and stopped at a red light. The song was building up and I was about to rave like a fool when a car beeped at me, I looked up to see if the lights were green but they wasn't. I looked out of my window and saw Ollie smirking.
What was he up to? He kept glancing at the lights, then me, then he revved his engine twice. He wanted to race. I smirked and looked around and grinned when there was a clear road ahead of us.
My foot was hovering over the accelerator, all my racing skills are filling my brain. I glanced at Ollie who was still staring at the lights, I did the same and the wait seemed forever. Then it turned green. My foot slammed the accelerator and I lurched forward, my speed building and building, I changed gears and clutched on the the steering wheel. Ollie was by my side. We neared our street. He must of modified his car like I did because he lurched forward right in front of me, rookie move, too early. My finger hovered over the secret high speed button behind my steering wheel, when I saw Ollie's car slowing from going too early, I pushed my button and launched forward making my head hit the head rest and speed right past him. My car slowed down just as soon as I got to my house I swiftly turned into my drive way and slammed the breaks on time. A huge grin entered my face. I knew he was a good racer but that was just easy. I took my phone from the speaker, got my bag and locked my car. "You got lucky then" Ollie's voice called from next door as he stepped out of his car. "Yeah sure" I laughed. "I'll have a rematch one day and I'll win" he smirked. "Can't accept defeat I see" I said as I walked to my door. "I can, I just really want a rematch" I laughed at his stupidness, unlocked my door and headed inside.-------

I don't know if this was exciting but I do promise romance&car action later on in the book.

I'm trying to get a good background story before I rush into anything.

I've got good things coming soon.

What did you think on the dance clothes?

The video seems to not be working so type in on YouTube ('talk that talk' Rihanna choreography by Jasmine Meakin mega jam)
