Chapter 9

Flashback continued

"Continue..  " I said

She took a deep breath and continued

"I woke up in the morning to find that sid wasn't on the bed... I looked around to find him sitting on the sofa taking to someone...  I was happy that I lost my virginity to the man I love...  So I went towards him..  His had his back facing me..  I hugged him from back..  He stiffen and cut the phone call..  He than turned around I thought that he would kiss me or hug me..  But he told me to get out from his house..  I was shocked..  I tried to ask him what's the problem but he just ignored and went away.. I followed him into his room..  I said what happened.. Why was he behaving like this all of a sudden..  I thought he was scared that he lied to you or something like that... I guess I angered him more..  That's why he slowly came towards me and said that you left..  He said that no one was able to find you..  He told me that I was the reason you left..  I was shocked!!  I knew how much you were important for him and for his business... I w-"

"He lied" I said Interrupting her

"What?? " She asked confused

"He lied to you when he said that our marriage was just a deal. My father was no business man..  We were a middle class family..  My father used to work in sid's father's company...  And my mom was a homemaker" I said

"But the only thing I don't understand is why did he lied to you" I said confused

She sighed..

"Becoz of the bet" She said

"Huh??" I said

"Please let me continue" She said

"Ya sorry" I said

"So after he accused me of everything..  I left his mansion . I was broken...  And swore to never look back to him... But I think life had other plans for me.. I belonged to a very conservative family..  Therefore my father wanted me to get married..  As I was just 17 years old my father said that he will not marry me now but get me engaged..  So that when I complete my college I straight away get married....  I wasn't shocked as I always knew my father..  So I agreed..  Not that it mattered anyway...  So after
1 week my soon to be fiance's family came to see me and confirm our engagement..  After few hours of there talking they left me with my soon to be fiance so that we could talk and know each other..  Honestly I didn't liked him when  I saw him..  But I didn't have any choice.. So I sat there with him..  The first thing he asked me when we where left alone was whether I was virgin or not..  I stiffened...  I couldn't lie to him..  Even if I did today.. Eventually He'll get to know ... So I told him the truth..  He left...  He didn't even gave me a chance to speak or justify myself... He went and told everything to my father..  My father being a conservative one..  Slapped me in front of every one..  Everyone was disgusted with my presence..  And the guy denied to marry me..  Saying that I wasn't pure or I was a slut that I slept with other men..  He said alots of thing not only to me but also insulted my father.. By that time I was crying like hell..  "  She said and took a deep breath

"If you you are not ready that it's okay I can wait" I said assuring her

" No no please let me speak... I wanna get this all out..  I can't keep it no more" She said begging

I smiled sadly..  And said okay

"After they insulted both my mom and dad including me.. .  They left....my father was disgusted with me..   He didn't talk to me for 1 month..  I always tried  to speak to him or apologize to him but he never listened to me..  So one day I went into his room and started begging for his forgiveness I cried and begged for him to speak to me..  But the only thing he said was if I wanted to live in this house than I have to marry the person I slept with. . . He told me that he will accept me only if I was able to convince that man with whom I slept to marry me...  And then he told me to get out of his house.. 
He gave me some money and told me get out..  I was shocked after everything. I had no other options so in went to sid's mansion to try and convince him..  But his guards wouldn't let me in..  I tried and tried..  For 1 month my only aim was to get to sid and convince him to marry me..
But their guard never let me in..  So one day at night I quietly , without getting noticed by the guard, went into his mansion..  I went into his room..  I saw that he was drinking..  Sitting on the sofa..  I went towards him so that I could talk to him..  I tried to call him but he didn't respond.. Than I slowly patted on his shoulder..  He turned towards me..  When he looked at me his expression changed suddenly he became angry..  But at that time the only thing I wanted was convince him anyhow to marry me..  So i told him everything what happened to me after the day we slept together... He wasn't listening to me..  Than suddenly he laughed...  I was surprised.. That's when he told me about his bet." She said

"what kind of bet?" I asked

"Yes bet.. He told me about vicky..  Vicky was a student in our college he was really bad he used to drink and smoke many people said that he even used to sell drugs to the students in our college. Sid  said that vicky used to lust over me.. But Siddharth told him that girls like me would die to sleep with him..  And that he could get me in. snap of finger..  That's when vicky challenged him to sleep with me..   Siddharth said that whatever he did or said was just because of the bet ..he said that our relationship never ment anything to him...he said he never loved me...  After that he came closer to me he was drunk as hell  leaning down he chuckled and said that h- he w- wo- won!! " By the end she brokedown she cried and cried

I sat there shocked!! 

After few minutes she calmed down and then again continued

"After that night I knew my father would never accept me..  And I couldn't go to Siddharth's mansion to ask for help..  Not after everything he did to me..  So I tried to call my friends to ask some help but everyone denied..  Saying that they can't keep a slut I  in their house..  One of my friend finally helped me initially he was good he gave me food and shelter.. But one night he came into my room and t- tr-tried to t- to- tou-ouch me inappropriately..  I ran from his house I didn't knew where I was going I just ran I wanted to go far very far away from this place so I took a train and came to Mumbai..  By then it had been 2 months since my father threw me out of my house.. .. I knew no one in mumbai this city was new to me.. After getting out of the train I was hungry as hell...but I had no money..the money I had I left it in the previous house I didn't get any time to collect it.. Son I started begging..  Begging for money.. 
My hunger made me a begger...." She said

I just saw her..  I didn't knew what to say..  What ever happened to her was so similar to me..  The hate I had for sid..  Now grew even more... 

"I know I broke your marriage..  If possible then please forgive me..  I didn't intend to break your marriage..
I think whatever happened with me was because I deserve it.. .  I deserve it after breaking your marriage..  This was my punishment..  God was punishing me for breaking someone's marriage.. "She said and again broke down

"No no!!  What are you saying..  Aastha look at me..  " I said lifting her face so that she could see my eyes

"You don't deserve this okay you don't deserve any of this..  And it wasn't your fault..  Okay.. if anyone was at fault then it is him..  He ruined your life..  Look!!  We can't change watever happened to us .. .  Whatever happened in the past..  But we can change our future right!! " I said smiling

"What do you mean??" She asked

I smiled.

"Let's start over....  Let's start over as friends.. " I said

Flashback over

That's how our friendship started. And now we are best of friends..
