I ran and ran, not stopping for anything. I didn't have a distinct location in my mind so I just let my feet take me where they want to go. It was one of those days where it doesn't matter where you end up. When I finally stopped, I looked around me and saw it was Alec's old village. Of course I end up here. Of course. Why am I not even surprised. Fate has its way around my life but now, it's just mocking me. I remember how he promised to take me here some day. Well....guess I can cross that off my list of promises. And the one about that girl that I fought and didn't even know the name of.

I know. Don't worry. She will not lay a finger on you. You will survive this. I promise.

Well guess what. You just broke your damned mother fucking promises. Not that I'm surprised. Seven promises down. Ten more to go. The joy. I was slowly walking around randomly under the dark sky, stars barely showing on the blanket of darkness. I collided against a wall and fell on my butt. I looked up and saw something that was very unwall like.

"I'm sorry." I said, looking up at the stranger.

He was a vampire, no doubt about it. He had the same bright red eyes as me and dirty blond hair.

"That's quite alright." he said, extending a hand to help me up.

I grabbed it and hoisted myself to my feet.

"Sorry about that. I wasn't looking where I was going." I smiled sheepishly.

"Clearly." he smirked.

I rolled my eyes playfully.

"I'm Secret. You?" I asked, thrusting out my hand.

"R.J.Thomas. Pleasure to meet your acquaintance Ms. Secret....?"

"Volturi." I mumbled.

He immediately hissed a little.

"I used to be one. I just left." I mumbled.

He seemed to relax a little.

"Right. Sorry about that. It's just that the Volturi has such a fearful reputation." he explained.

I smiled a little.

"Yeah. It's fine." I sighed.

"So why did you leave?" he asked.

"Personal problems." I mumbled.

He nodded and didn't press any further, which surprised me.

"I'm sorry. It must have been pretty severe for you to leave a coven." he said.

I just nodded.

"So...where are you planning to go now?" he asked.

I shrugged.

"Wherever my feet take me. I don't need to eat or drink, technically, so I don't need to stop for anything." I sighed.

"You could stay with me. I have a house in the mountains. Humans rarely go there. I live alone anyway." he added.

I thought about it.

"Ok. Are you sure that I won't be a bother? I'm pretty sure that you're used to living alone and I don't want to intrude on your personal space." I blabbed on.

He chuckled and shook his head.

"You won't be. It would be nice to have some company every once in a while anyway. You're welcome in my house anytime." he smiled.

I smiled back at him.

"Thanks R.J."

"No problem."
