As soon as she said it she regretted it and started to walk down the hallway, Kaz followed, still speaking about the one subject she really couldn't want to talk less about. "what!? A level 13? That, that is unheard of, the most powerful superheroes are barely scrapping 12's and you're a 13? How is that possible? How are you just a doctor? You are capable of so much more Cas, you should go out there and be a hero."

"I don't want to be a hero."

"How could you not want to be a hero? It's literally my dream to become one, if i had your capabilities i would be out there fighting villains, getting my own comic books and movies."

"That's not all a hero does, and honestly, all the superheroes make it look so great and easy, but how many times have you seen the same superhero being pushed into the hospital on a gurney? How many superheroes have put more lives at risk than lives they have saved? How many superheroes have died at the hands of villains? Too many people get put in danger because of their stupid hero complex, which you also seem to have."

"Hero complex? They just want to do what is right and save people. They risk their own lives in order to ensure the safety of others, its a selfless and righteous job to be in."

"Yeah, until they put their entire family at risk, and until they die, then what? The world goes back to being an evil place."

"Tell me, how many innocent have died in circumstances you could have prevented?"

Cassie stopped in her tracks as she calculated the answer, "925," she continued to make her way around the hospital.

"Nearly a thousand lives and that still isn't enough for you to conjure up a 'hero complex'?"

"No, because a lot more lives will be lost if i become a superhero."

"And how long is it until the lives you could have prevented overtake the lives you caused?"

Cassie felt uncomfortable with the last question, if she was being completely honest it wouldn't be that long, 1000 was the threshold and she was nearly there. "That doesn't matter at the minute, its still not justifiable, yet."

"Wait a minute," something once again sparked in Kaz's head, that power of statistic she just used that wasn't hers, "how did you calculate that? Because it looked a lot like Mathematico's power of statistical stuff, i never really liked his comic books but when you've read everything else...well."

"Because, one of my abilities is power mirrorforcation. I can copy other people's powers."

"But he isn't around here... and that power is only active if you're with them in the room, or sometimes even touching that person. Unless-" Kaz spun around like a ballerina trying to spot the mathematician but saw no one, "nope, he's not here. So how did you do that?"

"Like i said, i can replicate powers just not the way you've known it to be. You see i can mirror another persons powers, i can mirror all the techniques they spent years, sometimes decades perfecting, i can mirror the exact level they are as well, so Mathematico is a level 9, so i have his ability at the same level. If that makes sense?"

"Yeah it does, but it still doesn't answer my question of how you have it when he isn't here."

"Because, when i mirror a power, i keep it. It never leaves me."

"Okay first of all, that is beyond awesome, and second of all, why would you want statistical powers?"

"I had a maths test i hadn't studied for."

"You know, I'd do the exact same thing if i was you. But seriously these powers, you could help so many people, and the world needs superpowers more than ever."

"Because Skylar Storm annihilated half the heroes. Yeah I'm aware, i watched a lot of that happen."

"And you just stood by?"

"What was i supposed to do? What if i failed and the annihilator took my powers, no one should have this much power, not a villain, a hero, or me."

"You were supposed to try and save them, no matter the risk."

"Like i said i'm not cut out to be a hero."

"But you could be, i could train you how to be one." Kaz suggested, all he's ever wanted was powers, but he thought about how amazing it would be to train a hero up. "Please, let me do this."

"I'm sorry i don't want to be a hero."
