Although Su Tang and her brother didn't have to leave the house very often nowadays because they were in their mourning period, they still had to have a few exchanges with their relatives during the holidays. Su Tang had especially bought two red date cakes while she was in town earlier in the day with the thought that she would give them to Su Yongqiang's family and Su Yongshun's family.

Of course, if she wanted to eat a cake like this herself, she wouldn't have bought it. After all, the red dates produced in her space were much more delicious than the ones from outside.

When Madam Lu saw that Su Tang had taken out a red date cake that was not small at all, and that seemed to be much more expensive than the fruit she had brought, she couldn't help but hesitate. Su Tang saw her hesitation and said, "Take it back and give it to my nephew and your son. I've heard that this is the best red date cake in town. I think it should taste pretty good."

Madam Lu and her husband Su Laiwang had a son and a daughter, and their son was five years old this year. Su Yongqiang had already sent his eldest grandson out to study because he attached great importance to learning so Madam Lu's son had tagged along to town from time to time before, so she knew a bit about the things in town.

For instance, this kind of red date cake was not something cheap. It was rare for any of the people from their village to buy it.

However, when she heard Su Tang mention her son, Madam Lu finally accepted the cake. Her family's Erlang* had been wanting to eat try this kind of cake recently, so when she, as his mother, saw it in front of her now, she really couldn't bear to not take it back with her. With that thought, she eventually nodded.

When she saw the woman had agreed, Su Tang clapped her hands together and said. "Anyway, it's getting late. You should go back soon. If you wait much longer it will be dark on the road, and you might fall."

"Then I'll thank Aunt Tang and Uncle Nuo on behalf of my family's Erlang." Madam Lu said her thanks and then left with the cake.

Seeing that she was gone, Su Tang and Su Nuo were about to finally go inside together but, by coincidence, Su Nuan happened to come over just then. She had also come over to deliver something. She just gave the siblings some fresh fruit while telling them it was because they were all celebrating the festival.

Everyone in the village was living ordinary lives, so they wouldn't give away anything too valuable for this kind of festival. At most, they would deliver some of the fruit grown by them or their families. Not to mention, Su Tang and her brother were still in their mourning period, so even if they really wanted to send something more expensive like chickens or ducks, it wouldn't be too appropriate.

Su Tang naturally accepted the fruit and then handed the red date cake over to Su Nuan and told her to take it back to eat.

It was good that she had come over because it saved Su Tang the effort of visiting her household. After all, for a festival themed around family gatherings and reunions, if two people wearing mourning clothes came to your door, even if they had a good relationship with you, it might not be good. So, to solve that problem, it was best that they just didn't show up at other people's doors at all.

That evening, Su Nuo drank some milk and then went to bed while Su Tang went into her space to work on their cotton-padded clothes until late in the night.

The next day was the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the village was more lively than usual, but Su Tang and Su Nuo did not go out.

Without going anywhere, Su Tang roused her brother and made some moon cakes with him. For convenience, Su Tang had bought some glutinous rice flour in advance, and in the end, she made three snowy moon cakes with Su Nuo, the cakes were filled with red dates, red beans, and Hawthorn honey.

The colorful snowy moon cakes didn't only look good, they also tasted very good. The little guy liked it so much that after eating one all he wanted to do was take a comfortable rest.

After they made the moon cakes, they went on to spend the afternoon making cumin potatoes, minced vegetables with garlic, and fried tofu, tomato, and egg soup with materials from Su Tang's space.

For the first time ever, the little guy was able to eat so many dishes in a meal that his stomach became so round that he couldn't walk anymore. When she saw his struggling appearance after the meal Su Tang laughed aloud.

Su Nuo also felt like he was a little ridiculous right now, so he closed himself in the bedroom while feeling a little ashamed for the rest of the afternoon. Meanwhile, Su Tang used the time to continue working on the cotton-padded clothes. Compared with many other families who were enjoying their reunions, celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with only two people felt a little lonely, but it was also quiet and warm.

"Sister, will we be able to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival like this every year?" Before he fell asleep that night, the little guy tugged on Su Tang's clothes and asked that question.

For Su Nuo, the last month or so all felt like a dream. He desperately wanted things to always be like this, and never go back to how they were in the past.
