Compared with Su Tang's face that was full of amazement and appreciation, Yang Fude's face turned pale when he saw the teenager. His lips trembled and he stuttered out, "M-Master Luo..."

"Oh, it seems that Shopkeeper Yang is really good. It was only yesterday that you agreed to transfer the contract you have with Miss Tang to my Luo family, but for some reason today you decided to come and see Miss Tang yourself. It seems that you don't put my Luo family in your eyes at all." The young man's cold eyes were fixed on Yang Fude as he spoke.

Yang Fude turned even more pale and he said. "I had absolutely no such intention, Master Luo. Don't misunderstand me."

When the young man heard Yang Fude trying to argue, he smiled sarcastically and said, "Do you think I'll believe you?"

After that Yang Fude didn't dare to say another word. After all, he was just a small shopkeeper from a general store, so how could he dare to offend the young master of the Luo family of Beikou? He couldn't help berating himself inside his heart for having such a stupid thought in the first place. He had already made some money, hadn't he? So why did he have to be so greedy?

As the two people went back and forth like this, Su Tang started to vaguely understand the situation, so she asked: "What does he mean by transferring your contract with me? Shopkeeper Yang, what's going on?"

Su Tang looked at Yang Fude unhappily. She had signed a contract with Yang Fude for a year but it had been barely two months and Yang Fude had transferred it to someone else without her consent? Su Tang laughed coldly, "Isn't this a breach of contract on your side, Shopkeeper Yang?"

The young man hadn't expected Su Tang to react like this at all. He glanced over at her and found that the girl's dark eyes were looking right back at him. Her eyes were clear and cold, as if she could see right through him.

"This must be Miss Su Tang. I'm Luo Xingchen, from the Luo family in Beikou. I wanted..." Being stared at like this, Luo Xingchen was a little surprised, and he quickly wanted to explain himself.

"This... Young Master Luo, was it?" Su Tang looked at Luo Xingchen with a smile and said, "I think this matter should be explained to me by Shopkeeper Yang himself. After all, the thumbprints on our contract are mine and his and not anyone else's."

After being directly interrupted like that, Luo Xingchen's face changed a bit, but he quickly said. "Since that's the case, why don't we all sit down and talk about it somewhere else? This place isn't very convenient."

He shouldn't have already been found out, Luo Xingchen thought to himself nervously. A secret that he had held for more than ten years, something he would even sometimes forget himself, how could an eight-year-old girl see through it?

Su Tang glanced between Yang Fude and Luo Xingchen before replying. "I can't. I don't have time right now."

"Well, why don't I be the host? We can all go to Fuxing House at noon..." Luo Xingchen looked at Su Tang carefully as he spoke, and when he saw her face didn't seem to darken at all, he gained confidence.

But Su Tang shook her head. "I'm not going to Fuxing House. At a quarter past noon, I'll meet you at Mingxiang Pavilion."

At the mention of Fuxing House Su Tang recalled her own unpleasant experience there where she was driven away by the waiter. Because of that memory, she would never willingly create any business for Fuxing House, so she suggested Mingxiang Pavilion instead.

Mingxiang Pavilion was the only teahouse in Qinghe Town, and it was a place where scholars and students would gather to chat and sample some simple refreshments. Generally speaking, because the scholars liked to drink tea there and exchange words about their studies it was a place with a refined and elegant sort of air, so it was a good pick for a place to talk about business.

When Luo Xingchen heard Su Tang's suggestion, he nodded and responded, "Then Shopkeeper Yang and I will wait for Young Miss Su at Mingxiang Pavilion."

After he said this, Su Tang looked him up and down a second time, sizing him up without a trace of fear, before smiling, "Then I'll see you then!"

Luo Xingchen's hair stood up on end when he felt her gaze. He had an uncomfortable feeling as if this little girl's unusual eyes could somehow see right through him. Could this Su Tang really see something when she looked at him? He didn't dare believe it.

As for Su Tang, she naturally didn't know that Luo Xingchen was so perturbed by her gaze, and she casually pulled Su Nuo behind her and disappeared into town.
