12-Day

Sid pov,

As the sound of the door caught my ear, my sleep got distracted, I opened my eyes furiously checking on the surroundings to find her. I heard the door locked click. I waited there for a couple of minutes, examining the sounds from the bathroom.

No sign of exit from the bathroom increased my anxiety. I was restless. I knocked on the door to confirm her presence, but nothing came out. I lost my calm and banged on the door. I broke into the bathroom. She grabbed her towel off the stand and covered herself.

"Oh, I'm sorry!" I whispered awkwardly at my stupid thoughts. I just got worried and broken in.

"You meant to do it! You never had a word privacy or shame in your life dictionary" she shrieked with anger. I was not interested in fighting or romance, but she is always interested in getting into trouble.

"I had better words in my dictionary, shall I teach you some?" I chuckled, smirking. She glued her lips, stepping back. My dirty mind started working looking at her poster, but this was not time to think dirty.

"Enough of shower, get dressed up I'm so hungry" I mumbled leaving her. I was so much hungry my stomach is crying for food. I checked the refrigerator to find some bread or fruits it's all empty.

As my search continued, she reached me after getting dressed in her jeans and a long loose top. I know the reason behind this dressing to keep me away. She used to try this trick even when we are in good relation to look less attractive. Anyway, this looks too tempting for me. She got her wallet and moved towards the door.

"Hey! Where are you going?" I yelled, blocking her way?

"Supermarket! All the groceries are exhausted I had nothing left at home." She said surprising me.

"But you fill up to date, weekly?"

"That's past when my life has hope, but now I'm just alive. I don't have any hope or interest in life. Now also I'm going because you asked for food. Although you don't deserve my hospitality, my parents taught me never sent anyone with hunger. Watch tv for a while I will return soon," She spoke up mocking me.

"Why not we tell them the list? We can get home delivery." I gifted a brilliant idea.

"High-class people like you can effort it, but I was a middle class. I should manage everything out of my salary. For me every penny counts! " She talks so insane.

"I will pay, don't worry," I assured.

"Who are you to pay?" She scoffed.

"We got married" I remained her.

"Oh, married! How? Did we exchange vows? Do you have any photography? Or do you at least tell this world how you married me? Even I don't know when we got married!" She sneered in her sarcastic tone. She is right, but my ego never accepts it.

"But I believe it, may not today, but one day I will declare you as my wife. Till then we should handle it. Ok, tell me what I should buy?"

"How are you going to pay? I want my husband to afford his hard-earned money. Did you sell your kidney?" She muttered, stunning me.

"Shut up! I was born with a golden spoon, everything is mine. My ancestors worked to gift me that they loved me, so they want me to enjoy." I smiled.

"Yes, only they loved you, so you are born rich. I never loved you nor your father or your mother or sister! Take this card and buy the groceries. You know my budget, get me all items we use for this week," she challenged placing the card in my hand.

I left to the supermarket confidently, but everything vanished as I entered the store pulling the trolley. Oh, God! I don't know what to buy. I collected bread and milk and some cookies, but there are many more items to buy. She used to fill the trolley with different items.

Whom should I ask? If I ask her, she will laugh at me. Rick? he knows whisky brands, not groceries. Sam too may not. Mom? Umm, she may get suspicious.

As I lost in drawing different conclusions. A lady around her 40s is shopping. I never asked anyone to help, but today if I show ego, I will be low in front of her. I brushed out my useless thoughts and joined her.

"Excuse me, Mam!"

"Yes,"

"Umm, Aunty I... I came to shop for the first time alone. Can... Can you help me?" I whispered embarrassedly.

"What you want to shop?" She asked smiling. She seems sweet, like my mother.

"Weekly groceries"

"Why your blushing, did you get newly married?" She asked instantly.

"Yes, I was not used to this. She is unwell, so," I explained to her.

"You should learn too. How many works can a woman do? You look educated seems she may be doing a job."

"Yes, she works and talented." We continued our shopping, exchanging talks.

" I also had a daughter, but we opposed her love and made an arranged marriage. Her husband is irresponsible towards her. She passed away because of stress and depression. I was happy your wife is lucky to get a caring husband. Girls leave their world to live in your world with blind trust in their love, but few husbands take them for granted. A happy marriage is when the girl is happy in your world. Stay happy, my son!" She mumbled before blessing me. Her words didn't get out of my mind. Somewhere in deep down, I feel I was wrong for Sana. I can't change the past, but I hope to rewrite our present and future.

I rushed home with an idea to discuss about future. She was surprised to see the bill and items which matched 80% of her choices. She prepared breakfast, and we had with complete silence.

"Today is Sunday! Your friends might be waiting in some club," she taunted, hinting me to leave.

"I want to talk with you"

"What?"

"Can we erase the past and start over? I know I was rude, but although I decided to stay with you forever. I want to make it a happy relation, " I attested. She got up from the chair with a thud.

"You decided not me. Your behavior is not just rude, it's disgusting, unacceptable, unforgivable, and you're dead in my view. You killed my soul." She wailed in tears.

"I'm sorry, I was a bit drunk that night and I was so angry with you so" I tried to justify my stupid action. Indeed, I was to worst that night. It was not me. I had drugs and the situation just drove me to do that.

"Do you hate Jack?" She asked.

"What!" I was so surprised hearing the name' jack from her.

"Do you hate jack?" She repeated. I nodded yes.

"Why?"

"Because he is my rival in college and life!"

"Then did you ever forced yourself on him?"

"Whattttttt!"

"Did you r*ped him? You hate him and he is your rival from a long time," she asked, folding her hands. I got her point.

"Are you out of mind? He is a man." I scowled in frustration before turning away.

"Oh, this special hate expressing privilege only for girls. Then you hate Maya, you hate Riya too. Why only me? " She cried grabbing my arm making me looking at her.

"Shall I tell you, because I'm poor because I don't have a background, I'm weak and mostly I was broken loving you. Maya is your sister, but you talk dirt about her. You make your friend talk dirt about your sister, then what about me? You might be explaining to him everything happening in between us. How you brutally snatched my dignity, warming your bed with flowing tears and muffled screams. Might be enjoying my pain. I seriously don't understand one thing, you took everything in your way by force why the marriage came in middle. That's not in your bet because I belong to a normal family. Why you got such a cruel idea to marry me. Your target is to dump me after using then why the hell you married me. Oh, you want me slave or you want to gift me to your so-called best friend swapping nights "

I just couldn't hold her words. My hand flew high to slap her, but I held back, pushing her on the couch in anger, and stormed out from her building.
