Summary:

Review:
I found another hidden gem. Although it's a bit different from my expectations but it is still good. I thought it will be about revenge but mostly it's about romance between MC and ML. The revenge is still there but not much effort, they easily defeat the villains. And in the end it feels like why bother all the headache when the ending is so easy.
The backstory is Qi emperor aka ML father want to unite 5 country under Qi. He married a princess tribe who has good relationship from previous generation aka ML mother. Then he use her to forced the tribe soldier to help him attacking other country. They keep defeated. ML mother was isolated in the palace, a concubine aka current empress said that she will help her to send her children out. ML was 8 yo but he knew it was a trap, he beg his mother but his mother is gullible and force him to follow the concubine. After that ML is back to the palace in blood, his sister died eaten by beast. ML hate her mother who can't do anything and make the tribe lose to ML father.
ML right leg become cripple. He never care about anything. Because of the continuous war, the other neighbors country pressured ML father to send the concubine son, Huo Xu to MC country as hostage. MC father is a benevolent emperor, he mediate between Qi and the other 3 countries. So the other 3 propose to send a hostage prince from Qi to MC father.
MC grew up with HX for 10 years and got engage. But HX help his father and attacked MC country. MC father and mother commit suicide, her brother got killed, her sister got humiliated by the HX soldiers. MC then was forced to marry ML. HX want her to kill ML so he can become the crown prince.
Until the end HX stupidly thought MC will be in his side forever and will forgive him for destroying her country. I really want to open his brain and check if it's empty.
MC got close to ML step by step. She want to kill HX and the emperor. When she find that she love ML, she is afraid that she will become ML enemy. So she never told ML that she want to kill ML father. On the other hand ML already knew she want to kill his father but keep silent. He plan to erase his own country and make MC as the ruler.
In the end ML ask MC if she won't ask his plan. MC never ask him. Then he put sleeping pill to MC. He went to the palace and rebel. ML father expected it and grant him the crown prince again. ML said he didn't need it. ML father was poisoned and stabbed to death by current empress. ML plan to burn the palace with himself. MC stopped him and got angry. ML went back with MC. ML refuse the throne and plan to give it to MC niece aka her brother's child. MC said he can give it to him few years later since he is too small now.
ML brought her back to the Li country and celebrate her birthday. HX is still in prison with both leg crippled by MC, he was stabbed by his concubine who he used as MC subtitute then later was sent to extreme brothel.
