Apparently I have read this novel. But I really don't remember anything. After reread it until the end, the story is really common. Nothing unique or emotional. The storyline kinda rushed.
MC transmigrate as legitimate daughter of general Shen Xiao. She has older brother, 2 illegitimate elder sister, 1 illegitimate younger brother, also a cousin. MC mother died soon after she gave birth to MC. MC grandmother aka Shen Xiao mother hate MC mother who comes from merchant family. MC mother family is really rich, she also can do business. OMC was unruly because her grandmother hate her and never teach her. OMC like the ninth prince and always trying to get close to him. OFL is OMC bestie, she was reborn. In last life, she believed her family was framed by MC father. She tried to got revenge and manipulated OMC to destroy MC family.
MC knew the novel plotline where OFL use men around her to get power. In the end she will become empress and rule the nation. MC as cannon fodder tried to escaped her fate. She was scheme by OFL, she was locked with ML who pretend to be a fool. MC knew he pretend but keep his secret. They keep meeting in coincidence and ML fell in love with her. He thought he don't need to pretend as fool anymore since he has power. No idea what or how he got his power.
MC keep getting conflict with her grandma. That was the focus of first part. The strange thing is at first it was said MC grandma partial to the 2nd room without any reason. Then she hate MC who she think a jinx because her mother died after giving birth to her. Then she should still love MC brother who is her first grandson. But no, in the end she blindly tried to ruin MC brother by matching him with a fool. OFL is more like the main story act in background. MC will keep an eye of OFL but didn't do anything. OFL will keep blaming MC on anything.
ML went to border and fought a war. He and MC father expose spy which is OFL family. No background story why OFL family become spy. Also OFL seems like trying to get revenge because she lost her family. But all the time there's no single family from OFL involved with the story in the novel. Only OFL father was named when he was sentenced.
MC and ML married after ML won the war in 2 years. The OFL followed ninth prince. She failed to get the crown prince, MC brother and a merchant heir. The merchant heir love MC. Crown prince realize her true face after she tried to kill MC using the ninth prince assassins. Also no idea how OFL can command the assassins without ninth prince know it.
After OFL family become criminal, OFL hook up with a banker. She show up again with different identity, changing her voice and face. Again no idea how. She was imprisoned when she tried to scheme and got close to crown prince. Then the emperor got hook with immortal thing. He believed a taoist that said he need OFL. OFL become concubine. She pressed MC mother family business. MC retaliate. The emperor died then OFL was buried alive with the emperor.
