Summary:

Review:
I never expect this to be a heavy story. It was a struggle to finish it, I don't like both characters but it is a good plot. I skipped a lot near the end so it's a bit unclear.
MC died as ML concubine. She reborn before she got married. She hates her eldest sister who torment her in previous life. The torment is humiliating, mocking etc. She knew the eldest sister is not her blood sibling, she thought the eldest sister is child from late main wife affair. But because the late main wife family is current crown prince natal family, MC family didn't dare to do anything.
There are a lot of hints that show the eldest sister is ML the crown prince. The elders seems to know it but younger girls and MC like blind people can't see that the eldest is not woman.
ML indulge MC who has Peter Pan syndrome. She act like a child with small scheme that easily got found out. MC father, grandma, mother, other sisters just let her be because ML said so... I really don't like MC who is white lotus b**ch and stupid. Even after she changed, I still don't like her.
ML loves MC but he is not blinded by love. He still manage the crown prince affair. He often left MC for certain times. It is said he loves MC but he still doesn't care much about MC mental pain. When MC racking her brain to scheme, ML just let her be and stir her like a puppet.
MC doesn't want to marry the crown prince like previous life. She loath the palace. She tried everything to avoid it but she was directed by ML.
MC fall in love with eldest sister but she hate the crown prince. It was repeatedly told all the way that MC is a weak and princess tempered that no man can tolerate her, that she will lean on anyone strong who is kind to her. And that strong person is her eldest sister. MC hate crown prince despite she love him in previous life, because he has other women. MC got obsessed and want to monopolize ML but the fact she can't do that make her depressed and died.
In this life, her mother who is supposed to died when giving birth to MC brother, survived because of eldest sister help. I will differentiate eldest sister and ML even if they are the same person. ML is referring to his real identity as crown prince. Heck I don't even remember ML real name because the plot is all about legitimate elder sister...
Because eldest sister help MC several times, MC fell in love with her. She refuse to marry and become a nun to attain happiness. But then her eldest sister become the empress. MC only heard the ascended crown prince marry Xi daughter as his empress.
At that time MC already married to a businessman Wang Cong. She was pressured to marry after her intention become nun easily broken. MC then has a happy marriage for a while. She got pregnant and gave birth to a son.
Her husband often went away for business. After MC gave birth, he never come back. Instead the eldest sister meet her again and accept her love. She took MC son as her own son. They have secret relationship that's not too secret... All the slaves, MC friend and ML subordinate know it.
When MC son is around 3 yo, MC knew ML secrets. ML can crack his bones(?!) and become other persons. It's not clear how the process, it just said eldest sister undress, a lot of pain, cracking bone then eldest sister transform as man.... A supernatural tag should be included to this novel.
MC tried to forget about it but ML force her to acknowledge it. MC can't accept ML, she only love eldest sister. She doesn't want ML who has concubines.
MC then began to remember her lost memories from previous life. She is actually a twisted person who likes blood. She killed her fifth sister pet and force her to eat it. She also disfigured her 3rd sister face due to jealousy. She loved the eldest sister in her last life. ML knew her mental sickness and tried to cure her. He wants to protect her everywhere so she can stay pure and innocent without killing anyone. In my opinion they are both mental and a match in heaven.
MC want to stop the draft but she doesn't want to go back to palace. She initiate her son to stop it. But ML warn her that only she can stop it. In the end MC show up as empress. Again how come there's no one who got confused when they never see their own empress...
MC make the empress dowager become crazy. ML just let her be. Then I skipped and read it backward from ending.
Ending summary, ML fake his death. Not sure how, seems like MC killed him. He taught MC how to be kind before his death. MC son blame her and said why she did it to ML when ML loves her so much.
The whole truth for previous life: MC mother is ML's mother spy. She was tasked to seduce MC father and got information. MC is an extra during task. ML become MC mother's master when his mother died.
The truth is Xi family is an ancient family. They controlled the late main wife who is also ML mother's cousin or sister. The Xi late main wife poison ML mother. ML become sickly, he was forced to live as woman in Xi family with poison as bait. Xi family tried to control him but in the end it was failed. MC in previous life knew everything, she has token to move Xi family secret guards so she can kill anyone.
ML accept MC as his concubine after he ascended for some years and got control the government. He already has son and daughter from the empress. He made promise with MC that he will stay with her if she behaved and never hurt anyone. In the end MC broke the promise because she loves the eldest sister. After MC died, ML live alone and prayed so they can reborn together.
In current life ML plan to shoulder all MC sins in previous life. He want MC to live as good person.
The extra is ML come back from death. They live incognito as normal people.
I can't like both characters no matter what. ML is really unclear, in a second he loves MC but then he is a cold person and doesn't care if MC is crazy or sick. MC who has psychology defect is also has random stupid actions. When she is still stupidly innocent, she is a white lotus b**ch. After she regain her memories, she is still stupidly fell to ML traps. Also her scheme level is still the same. When she provoke the queen mother, she directly said the queen mother is disgusting for loving her own stepson. MC also poison her to make her crazy. There's no high level scheme at all. Or maybe I missed it on the skipped chapters.
