Mia POV
I am nervous about today. I was really excited when my parents told me I was going to be joining JJ at camp. JJ always tells me about his days when I see him and all his friends he wants me to meet. They all sound really nice, but what if they don't like me and think I am weird...
Once I got out of the car, I saw the building it looked funny, but so many people. Too many. Mom saw Uncle Dom and River at the front and started walking there. I was getting more nervous as we approached.
"MIA!" I hear JJ yell, then suddenly feel him hugging me
"JJ!" I yell back
"Come on! Let's get you signed in," He tells me as he drags me into the building.
I look behind me and see Mama following with a soft smile.
"Okay. So, over to your left are the bathroom. Straight ahead is the cafeteria, where we eat snacks and lunch. If you go down the left hallways, you will find our age group and where we do our activities. On the right is where the older kids tend to hang out. They think they're too cool to be around us. Their loss if you ask me." JJ rants and points once we get in the building.
"Did you get that?" He asks once he is finished
"Umm..." I look at him, a little confused and scared
"Honey. You are check-in. There are a couple more minutes until they collect you into your groups. JJ, why don't you introduce Mia to your friends while we adults talk?" Mama says as she leads us back outside
With that, JJ grabs my arms and bolts to the outside area and a group of people. Two girls and three boys.
"GUYS! Guess who I brought today?" JJ says
"JJ, remember we talked about this-" A boy with blonde hair and green eyes started speaking.
"It is an imaginary friend," A girl with darker blonde hair and green eyes finished.
"Hey, H-twins! Look, she is real!" He says, pointing at me
I feel my cheeks getting red as they look at me.
"Oh, my bad," They say at the same time.
"Hi, I am Hayden, and this is-"
"Hanni," the girl finishes the sentence while smiling at me.
"H-hi," I reply with a shy wave.
"This is Mia. My new friend, I have been telling you about, and she is not imaginary!" JJ replies while rolling his eyes
"Anyways, those are the H-twins. Over there with the black hair is Tyler, and next to him is his sister Emmy. She is your age. Then the boy with the red hair is Max," JJ says
"HI! Finally, someone my age!" Emmy comes up to me with a big smile
Even though she is nice for some reason, I feel I shouldn't trust her...
I just nod at her and look at JJ for help.
"Emmy, relax," JJ says as he looks over at me and pulls me to him
"JJ! I am trying to be her friend!" Emmy replies before rolling her eyes and heading to a different group
"Sorry about her. She can be a little snappy" The boy with black hair comes up to me
"Ty, we discussed this already. You can't help that your sister is a brat." Hayden says
"Right... Tyler, by the way. I know JJ already said my name, but you look confused." He says with a smile
