"You're kidding, we still can't go after Lady Bawnia?" Rek snarled. "When can we go get her?"

"Listen, we have reports of several gnomes and dwarves kidnapped and being brought into Ordence. Once we have them freed, then she's all yours," Gyrtek promised. "Junnter is outside waiting for you. Since Drem and Lornk are staying in the city in case any more of those creatures show up, he's supporting you."

"Fine. We'll be fast," assured Vic. "But you better not assign anyone else to visit Lady Bawnia!"

Gyrtek nodded with a grim smile. "Believe me, I know what that means to you. But we owe it to our citizens to protect them. Right now they're being taken, and we can't have that."

"We'll take care of it!" Rek bounded to her feet. "We'll be back as soon as we can!"

They wasted no time in racing out to Junnter out in the courtyard, and moments later they were flying westward. The lives of their imprisoned countrymen were counting on them.

"Kraulth is dead then?" Czanther asked when Alia and Fehrys returned. He had a little smirk on his face that let me know quite well that his death was the desired outcome. But what Fehrys was happy about was the smell of roast beef emanating from the dining room table.

"He is quite dead!" Alia answered for me. "No doubt as you wished."

"Your impertinence is not necessary youngling!"

"Oh, please. You sent Fehrys there knowing that was that likely outcome. I may not understand why you did it, but I know it was on purpose," Alia countered.

"Regardless of the reasons, what's done is done." Czanther sat down in a leather chair and put his feet up. "Now, Fehrys, I do have another task for you if you're up for it."

Fehrys sighed, knowing this would no doubt be another task that would test his limits. "Am I to slay another dragon for you?"

"No. Perhaps you won't need to kill anyone or anything at all. True, that seems unlikely, but it is possible. You know of Southglade and the goblins infesting the ancient Elven ruins there, but there are other Elven ruins that are more important. In Marendia, north of the city of Welltown, is the city of Gormance. Why the humans call their cities such crude names I just don't understand. In any case, Gormance is built across the river from the ruins of the Elven capital, Kai Thalor. I need you to enter the ruins, find the burial chamber of the late king and queen who were killed in the goblin invasion, and return their weapons to us."

Fehrys just stared into the blue eyes of the dragon, who was much too serene about all this. "You want the weapons of elves?"

"Yes. As skilled as the dwarves of your nation are with crafting weapons, the elves were better in some regards. These may be the most remarkable weapons around and will be perfect for the enchantments that we're going to teach you," Czanther explained.

"Can you tell me what the weapons will look like?" Fehrys wondered. "I don't want to go all that way to get the wrong items."

"They'll be easy to find, but I can say that there will be an elven cavalry axe, with a wicked blade, a spike on the top, and a flat hammerlike back. A very unique weapon, the King's weapon. The Queen had a single bladed longsword with a delicate curve to the point and runes running up and down the blade."

"Do you know where we'll be going?" Fehrys asked Alia, who shook her head with a frown.

"I've never been to that area."

"And you won't now either. Fehrys, you're on your own for this." Czanther told him.

"What will I be doing?" Alia asked with a frown. "Wouldn't I be best served to help Fehrys?"
