FIFTY: choose a wall

"billie! i'm glad i caught you before you left." eliza walked over to me as i was packing my stuff for the day.

"liam here showed me the work you've been doing on that little ipad of yours, and i have to say i'm pretty impressed." she pointed at the ipad in my hands and nodded. i looked over at liam who was standing at my left shrugging.

"thank you." i smiled at her.

"i have a really important business trip in about two months, i'm sure you know about it." she started. "only for four days. would you like to join me?"

"uhm uh yes? yes!" i nodded.

"okay then!" she smiled. "i'm glad you're down for it, these things can completely change your career." she nodded once in approval and walked away.

i turned towards liam, mouth wide open. "oh my god!" i jumped up in excitement, "oh my god! i'm going to germany! what the fuck?"

"you lucky mother fucker." liam shook his head.

"thank you thank you thank you!" i hugged him.

"your very welcome tiny. you deserve it and i thought you might need something to cheer you up after everything." he said.

"why are we so happy?" emi walked in with indra behind her.

"please tell me you two aren't going to become a thing. billie you're too good for him." indra looked disappointed.

"what?" i frowned. "no ew. besides i still cry myself to sleep everyday." i shook my head. "i'm going on the business trip with eliza to germany!"

"oh my god! indra is going too!" emi's face instantly lit up.

"i'm going to go throw myself off a bridge." she nodded and prepared to leave but emi grabbed her arm and made her stay.

"oh come on, we're gonna have so much fun!" i clapped.

"you're just going to be annoying and disturb my peace." she rolled her eyes. "i was hoping i'd get a break from this one and now i have to put up with that one?" she referred to emi and i.

"hey what the fuck!" emi hit her arm.

"jesus i was just kidding." indra rubbed her arm.

"well i gotta go, i have a date with my girlfriends." i said goodbye to everyone and made my way to the car.

as i started the car engine, my phone started ringing, i checked it and it was drew. "hey!" i answered.

"hey i'm just getting in the car, i'll be then in ten?" she said.

"yeah same, just got in the car." i let her know.

"alright, zo said she's gonna be a little late but odessa is gonna be there on time."

"alright see you." i reversed the car.

"see you." she hung up the phone.

just like we promised, we met ten minutes later with odessa for lunch. the hostess seated us and we ordered our food, called zoe to ask what she wanted then finally started catching up.

"look let me start off by this, i'm single, billie is single—."

"ouch." i winced.

"shush. billie is single, zo is single and you are in a very complicated situationship so, is hot girl summer on?" odessa continued.

"i guess hot girl summer is on." i shrugged.

"whatever happened to violet? aaliyah seemed pretty devastated when i mentioned her the other day when i was visiting the store." drew asked.
