Jungwon handed Hayun the order receipt and she pinned it to the wall, reading off what she had to make next. It was almost halfway through the summer holidays and the four of them worked hard everyday at the café, they seemed to be gaining more customers too.
Hayun swiftly made a caramel Frappuccino while Jake made the iced caramel coffee for the order and placed it on the pick up counter
"Caramel Frappuccino and Iced Caramel Coffee?" She called out, holding the two drinks on the counter
A familiar boy walked up to the counter, raising his hand. She then walked away back to her station
"Um— excuse me?" He said to her and she turned around to him, "can I have your number? You're um.. super pretty"
"Sorry, she has a boyfriend" Jungwon spoke out, standing next to her with an order receipt in his hand
He glared at the boy on the other side, and handed the receipt to Hayun.
"Oh! I'm so sorry" the boy bowed almost 90 degrees then ran off, shaking a little bit in fear
"Jungwon you didn't need to scare him off like that" Hayun giggled at her boyfriend's overprotectiveness while pinning the next order to the wall
"That was quite funny though" Eunji joined the conversation, leaning on the empty space infront of the cash register
"People really love to drink iced coffee in the summer" Jake groaned slightly, looking at the four iced coffees in the next order
"It is pretty nice" Jungwon said, with a very unconvincing smile
"Is it our lunch break soon?" Hayun asked, dividing some ice cubes into four plastic cups
"Yeah, I'll put the closed sign on now so after these people leave we can have our break"
"Four iced coffees?" Jake called out and a pretty girl came up to the pick up counter
"Can I have one of the holders?" She asked him, putting her finger on her lip
"Sure" he handed her the cup holder
"Can I also have your number?" She smiled cutely
"No, you can't" Eunji butted in, standing closely next to Jake
"What are you? His girlfriend?" The girl scoffed, as her three friends laughed behind her
"Yeah, I am. Do you have an issue with that?" Eunji replied in a threatening tone
The girl at the counter then snatched the holder in Jake's hand and stormed out the cafe , her three friends following shortly after.
Once everybody left, they made themselves food and sat down at one of the tables outside
"I wonder how Yoon and Ni-ki are doing at that dance camp" Jungwon thought out loud
"They barely have time to go on their phones, only at the end of the day when they finish practice" Eunji said solemnly, missing her best friend
"I called Ni-ki a couple days ago, y'know it's like 8 people per room there? It looks kind of like an asylum" Jake said
"The life of a k-pop trainee must be hard" Hayun said, "if that's just the dancing part, I can't imagine what it would be like to do everything else"
"Aren't you auditioning though?" Eunji asked
"Yeah, but we're not gonna get in though. Actually Jungwon has a shot, he's attractive, he can sing and dance" Hayun admired her boyfriend that sat opposite her
"Girl you can literally do the exact same thing, but in my opinion, you're prettier" Eunji patted her best friends back with empathy
"Yah! I'm pretty too Eunji"
"You're my pretty princess jakey boo"
