You stared at Kana in disbelief, but the more you thought about it, the more it made sense. Why would Kana suddenly disappear?

It was the remaining memory of her. Well, that's what you were assuming.

"When did you die?"

Kana let go of you so you could properly look at her.

"I honestly don't remember...."

You looked down at the ground and thought about all the interactions you had with the 'other' Kana. Were they all real, or...?

"I've been watching you for a while now. I've always wanted to talk to you ever since I was a child."

You looked at her and forced a smile on your face.

"I"m sorry, but have we met when we were children? I can't recall."

Kana nodded and felt your hair with your hand. She must've just realized that it was short.

"I'm sorry.. My brother must've done this."

You didn't want to say if it was 'fine' since it was your hair, so you just nodded. Looking up at the sky, you realized that the sun was starting to set.

"When did we meet?"

Kana also looked up at the sky.

"Hm.. well, we didn't directly talk to each other. It was more of a gathering."

Well, now you know why you don't remember her. You never paid attention to any of the gatherings, especially when you were a child.

You just paid attention to yourself, making sure you wouldn't make any mistakes during these small gatherings.

You honestly didn't know what to say to her at the moment besides asking how to leave. To be honest, you wanted to see Akuto at the moment.

"Oh... uhm, did you try pinching yourself?"

Kana saw your distressed face and put a hand on your shoulder.

"Maybe think about why you want to wake up. What do you really want to do?"

While you were trying to think about the things you wanted to do when you got back, Kana slid something in your hand. It was a brooch.

"Consider it a small parting gift."

You looked at the brooch. It looked pretty expensive and was in the shape of a butterfly. It also had red gems on it, which meant it went well with the current brooch you were wearing.

You put it right under your grandfather's gift and smiled.

"Thank you."

Kana forced a smile on her face and hugged you. When she did this, you realized that the brooch started glowing.
