My eyes were so wide I was afraid they would pop out. My jaw was hanging open and I swear I saw a fly entering my mouth. My cheeks felt warm and I was sure my ears were red.

Colin just stood there, studying the floor, embarrassed. He shifted awkwardly from one foot to another. He glanced outside at the snow and the neighbours decorating their houses.
"Forget it", he muttered,"I shouldn't have said that." He turned around but I called out,"Wait!"
He turned around, surprised and hopeful.
Now what? What should I do? What should I say? Oh god, help me please!
"I...", I muttered. I - what? "I...I..."
God damn it! Say something you stupid fuck! Yes or No - Just say it out loud! Oh god, this is so embarrassing!
Wait wait wait! Actually...
You know what? I DON'T need a boyfriend! I fucking don't need to prove anything to anyone. I'm proud of being single and I don't give a damn if anyone teases me! I QUIT!!!
"I'm sorry Colin", I finally muttered, feeling guilty,"I - I..." I only shrugged my shoulders in a helpless gesture. Colin looked downcast but still managed a small sad smile. "It's ok", he muttered and walked away.
I sighed and plopped down on my bed. I guess I'd always remain single. Boyfriends were not my cup of tea it seemed. I took out my cell phone and called Xavier.
"Yo bro! Wazzup?"
"I quit. Operation boyfriend is no more."
