"Can you help me with my homework, Y/n? I'm having a hard time understanding what we're doing in geometry." Ponyboy asked nervously as we walked home from school. We walked at a slow pace and Johnny was next to us on crutches.

"Yeah, sure! I might be a little rusty when it comes to geometry, but I think I could help."

"Okay, thanks." He gave me a small smile.

"So Johnny, how's your foot feeling?"

"I'll be off of the crutches in around two weeks. My foot has been feeling way better, still hurts a bit though." He explained. I nodded.

"I'm just glad no one got hurt too bad." I smiled at him and he returned it.

We made it back to the Curtis house pretty quickly and no one else was there yet. Two-bit had stayed behind at school a little longer to make fun of a group of socs about something, some of the guys were at work, and Dal was out doing who knows what. The silence wouldn't last long, though.

The three of us immediately collapsed onto the floor, pulling out our homework. Johnny tapped his pencil, looking like he had no intention of getting his work done, while Ponyboy skimmed over some of his geometry notes in a focused manner.

"Okay, so what are you struggling with?" I asked.

He explained his weak points of math and we got to work.

An hour had passed and I had managed to explain almost all of the things that Ponyboy was confused about. I felt myself dozing off, but I tried not to give into my craving of sleep.

"You look tired, Y/n." Ponyboy spoke up as he momentarily looked up from his math notebook, almost immediately going back to writing.

"I'm a little sleepy, but I'll be fine." I mumbled softly, my eyelids drooping despite my efforts to fight my grogginess.

I looked to see what Johnny was doing and I saw that his notebook page was covered in scribbles and doodles. He didn't care much about his school work considering the stress he already had at home. What was the point of stressing himself out over school too?

Johnny had stopped doodling and was now starting at the page sleepily. Sitting here for so long was also taking a toll on him. It was probably because how quiet and warm it was in the house. The only sound was Ponyboy's pencil scratching against the page of his notebook and the occasional turn of a page. It was soothing.

Johnny leaned back against the bottom of the couch, closing his eyes.

"I'm tired, guys." He breathed out in an exhausted voice. I leaned into him.

"Me too." I yawned and he did the same shortly after me.

"You guys can take a nap if you want. I just have to finish up this work and then write my essay for language arts-"

"Shh..." Johnny politely and softly shushed Ponyboy, obviously falling into a deep slumber. Johnny had wrapped his arm around my shoulder securely. I ended up falling asleep pretty quickly after Johnny.

Dallas entered the Curtis house with Two-bit. Two-bit being himself, decided to dramatically slam the door shut behind him.

A chorus of shushes rose up from some of the other boys that had just gotten back from work and Dal was immediately confused. Since when did being quiet matter to the gang? The Curtis house was always one of the loudest places to be.

Dallas entered the living room and had to stop himself from smiling when he saw Y/n was passed out against a sleeping Johnny, school work scattered around them. Ponyboy was awake and working hard, completely disregarding his surroundings and just fully investing himself into his math notebook.

Seeing his three favorite people all together made Dallas happy. He was glad Y/n got along with the gang so well, that's part of the reason why he had started liking her in the first place (Dal totally cared about Ponyboy you can't change my mind).

Johnny stirred in his spot, slowly opening his eyes. Y/n followed shortly after, the movements of Johnny waking her up.

Johnny saw Dallas and his face lit up. Y/n also looked at Dallas and had the same reaction, a smile crossing her sleepy face.

"Hey, babe." Y/n spoke sleepily, happy to see her boyfriend. Dallas swore Johnny and Y/n could light up a whole room when they were happy. Lately seeing genuine happiness from Johnny and Y/n hadn't been as common, so Dallas secretly enjoyed it when he got to see them smiling.

Y/n lazily stood up, trudging over to Dallas. She hugged him and he was a bit taken aback, unsure of how to react.

He awkwardly wrapped his arms around the tired girl, and stayed there for a couple moments. Her breathing slowed and Dallas looked at Johnny in a confused and uncomfortable manner.

"Did she just fall asleep standing up?" He asked Johnny.

"Probably."
