CHAPTER SIX

"So, aren't you excited for Sam and Emily's wedding?" Rachel questioned Serena who was currently driving them to the said couple's home.

"I am, but you know how I feel about the whole thing, I get that Sam imprinted on Em and all, but with the entire Leah situation-I can't just help but feel horrible how it played out. It could have ended on a better note" Serena let out a sigh feeling hypocritical on her words.

"I know" Rachel's face fell," But I guess sometimes these things happen for a reason" Serena knew her sister meant well, but then again.

Rebecca was more of the one who would have more of an opinion, meanwhile, Rachel was the one who just really went with the flow and hardly put thought into it.

"Yeah" Serena muttered slightly bitter to herself, hating that she keeps finding herself having the small glimpses of Paul getting into her head. She didn't know why it did when it had been a few years, and she had relationships after leaving La Push, but in the end, it always comes down to the hot-head Paul freaking Lahote.

"Hey Sis, do you...Um, ever think about if your relationship work?" Rachel asked slowly

Serena tried to force a smile but failing horribly," Honestly, Rach, I did think about it, but as you said, sometimes these things happen for a reason" Serena didn't mean to use her tone with her sister, but Rachel just put a hand on her shoulder

"Sorry, still too soon"

"I wouldn't say that-plus we were really young, I was turning 18 and he was 16, I mean, what was I even thinking saying those words to him" Serena confessed

Rachel furrowed her brows," Sis, it doesn't matter how old you guys were, you guys been dating for so long! It was about time someone said it" she argued

"Yeah-That is true but...well, look how that turned out Rach" Serena sighed and Rachel deflated, now feeling a little bad for bringing up the subject, and lying about Paul not being at Emily and Sam's place.

She was a little hopeful that maybe they could fix whatever happened, but she knew that both Paul and Serena are the most stubborn pair ever, and it didn't help that since Paul was now a shape-shifter, his anger now amplified.

Rachel let out a groan bringing her hand to her face, realizing that things can turn out for the worse, for her silly charades of wanting her sister to be happy, when she probably failed to see, that it was only going to make her angry or hurt

"Rach? Did you hear me?"

Rachel snapped out of her thoughts looking at her sister," What?"

"I was asking if you would want to go to the First beach whenever the sun comes out, along with dad and Jake" Serena raised an eyebrow on why her sister was so lost in thoughts

"Oh, yeah! That would be great"

"Is everything okay?" Serena asked worriedly to her younger sister, and Rachel felt even worse about the situation, but there was no turning back now since the house was just right the next turn "Sorry Serena"
