Mae's Pov

My eyes widened once I heard my name being used by a familiar voice. I turned around and saw my ex boyfriend standing in front of me in shock, I was pretty shocked myself. I never expected him to be here. he doesn't like any kinds of coffee... Well, he loves sweets, so I'm guessing he's here for cake

"Mason?" I asked, he smiled in amazement

"Wow! You look great!" He ran his hand in his brown hair, the way that always got me back in middle school

"T-thanks" I stuttered, he walked closer to me, I took a step back without him noticing

"Where have you been? You suddenly went missing! I got worried!" I bit my lips and looked away, I knew Louis was listening

"I... kinda went to camp..." I lied, camp? seriously? he crossed his arms

"You're a bad lier Mae, you've always been" I sighed, I hate how I'm easily identified "why in the world would you skip the state test and exit exam? You know you'll never graduate" I sighed

"How was it?" I had forgotten that everyone I know had already graduated, not that I cared, I only had one friend

"It was amazing, actually. I-" he chuckled "kinda got wasted" my eyes widened

"That doesn't sound like you" he shrugged

"Peer pressure" I rolled my eyes, idiot "but while I was wasted, I just started thinking about you" I avoided eye contact

"Oh really" I asked sarcastically. he nodded and sighed, walking closer, I took a step back

"Mae... I just wanted you to know that doing what I did to you was the biggest mistake of my life... I don't know why I choose that slut over you..." he frowned "you were the best thing that ever happened to me" he walked closer, I placed my hand on his chest, stopping him. he looked at me confused "Mae..." he looked at me with those eyes that I loved so much before "can you give me a second chance?" I sighed and pushed him further, making him more confused

"No"

"Why not?" He took my hands "I promise I won't do you wrong again, please believe me, I'll treat you like the princess I had always treated you before..." He looked so hurt "please?" I shook my head at him

"That's sad" he made a face

"I appear missing and I come back to the city dressed like a new me. you dumped me for fucking Melina! She was a slut! I was fateful to you! I believed in you, and you have he nerve to tell her you love her more then me behind my back" I scowled, shaking my head "don't be fucking stupid, I don't need you" he huffed and took a step back

"Fine, good luck finding someone who can take care of your crazy phase" I felt someone brush on my shoulder. Louis was next to me while handing me my hot cocoa. It smelled amazing. he smiled at me and looked at Mason's confused face

"Who the fuck is this?" Mason asked, sounding pissed

"Her boyfriend" Louis said, as a matter of factly. Mason snorted

"Yeah right, I'm the only guy that ever loved her even when she was possessed" I looked away while sipping on my drink. Louis glanced at me confused and back at him

"Yeah, back in 7th grade, she was possessed, I was the only one on her side, her family didn't know about it, just me because I was always with her" Louis sighed and towered Mason "wait a minute... You're-"
