Chapter 37: Engaged

Louis's pov

She was pregnant! how can I be so stupid to not realize all the signs!? she had mood swings, slept a lot, and ate twice more then she usually ate. she was eating for two!

We went back home after spending the night in a hotel, she was crazy tired. so I didn't want her to go through a flight when she can just sleep on a soft bed

I carried my fiancée to our home and went through the door. Ariana jumped from the couch and ran over to hug Mae happily

"Welcome home!" she smiled. Mae giggled "did he ask? what you say??" Mae showed her her ring, Ariana's jaw dropped and picked up her hand to see it "that's a huge rock!" she told me. I laughed and walked to the kitchen, seeing Harry sitting on the counter, eating cake

"Hey, got any carrot cake?" I asked while opening the fridge. there was one slice and I took it to the counter. Harry was starring at me "what?" he gave a wide smile, I narrowed my eyes "what are you thinking about?"

"Look at you bro" I blinked confused "I always wanted to see you this happy. I never thought it would happen, but it has" he took a bite of his chocolate cake "for about 5 years, you've been such a pain in the ass. You were always angry. now look, happy Louis! standing in front of me while eating carrot cake, what can get better?" I laughed and shook my head

"Maybe if the guys all get girlfriends" he snorted and put his plate in the sink

"Sure" he says sarcastically "where's Mae?"

"With Ariana" he nodded and ran his hand in his long curly hair. he needs a haircut

"So do you know about Mae?"

"That she's pregnant?" he smiled, signing of a yes "yeah, I do. I was so happy, but felt stupid because the signs were right there!" he laughed and patted my back

"It's okay. we've been taking care of her ever since she became prego. She didn't want to tell you until the time was right" yeah, I noticed that the guys had been protective of her and sneaking her places behind my back, they were just helping her. it still made me feel bad though

"How long has she been pregnant?" he choked up in laughter

"When was the first time you did it?" my face flushed in red. I looked away. he bursted out laughing

"What's so funny?" Zayn asked, walking in

"He asked me how long Maes been pregnant, he should know. he did it once before we met with the council" my face was burning up! Zayn was laughing

"Don't be embarrassed!" Zayn patted my back "you're gonna be a daddy" I smiled at the fact

"And you're gonna have yourself a wife" Niall and Liam walked in with a smile. I looked at into the living room and saw how happy Mae was while talking to Ariana, they were both sharing their rings... their rings?

"What is Ariana showing Mae?" the boys looked at each other

"A promise ring" Liam said

"From Fran" Zayn said. I sighed and held the ridge of my nose

"Whatever... as long as he gets my blessing in the future" my brothers laughed and messed up my hair in a playful way, we all ended up wrestling. I laughed and peeked over to Mae smiling at me. I just know that whenever I see that smile, there's nothing else I want more

Months later

Our wedding might've been the largest I ever seen. All my celebrity friends wanted to be there for me and Maes family and friends were there for her. I had to admit... her dad scared me when he found out his daughter was pregnant. me, scared of a human... how terrifying

It wasn't very hard to hide the fact that everyone in the room were vampires. the vampires weren't that scared of knowing humans were going to attend

I had already told the world of our future wedding. I could tell how badly human photographers wanted to come and take pictures, but our human hunters did that for us

The world didn't know Mae was pregnant. all the photos hid her stomach very well. I had a blast just being with her. her dress made her look very beautiful...

It was a white mermaid dress that hugged her body perfectly, even gave some space for her belly. it was sleeveless and her collar bone and arms were covered by snowflaked lace. I never seen anything more beautiful

I watch Mae sitting on the grass in the backyard, feeling on the cool breeze of January. my birthday had already passed in December, the best birthday ever, because it was on our wedding day

I walked up to Mae and sat next to her. Her belly was growing, this month should be the month of our expecting

"Hey" I smiled. she opened her eyes and looked at me with such a warm smile. I laid my head on her lap and rubbed on her stomach. I still can't believe I'm going to be a daddy... I only wonder what the baby will be

Mae took my hand and moved it to a specific part of her belly, I felt a kick. I felt excitement come over me

"Hey" I talked to her belly. she giggled "I bet you're going to be the best baby out there, I don't care how you look, you're going to be loved. even if you'll stay the same age for 2 years" I laughed and sat up to kiss my wife

"I can't wait..." she nodded and rubbed on her belly. I sat behind her and held her hands while she did so

Mae's Pov

So I'm 5 months pregnant... I never thought I see the day when I'm going to have a baby, let alone a vampire one who won't turn 1 for 2 years

I sneak out of Louis and my room that we share now, (covered in many of my paintings and stuffed animals from home) and went up to the kitchen

I grabbed a box of fudge balls and rested my elbows on the counter to eat it. before one can reach my mouth, Harry walked in

"Hey, what are you doing up?" I asked

"I can ask you the same question" I showed him the box of dessert, offering him some. he chuckled and started eating with me "so you nervous?"

"For?" I asked without looking at him

"The baby, it can come anytime you know?" I nodded and ate a fudge ball

"We'll be waiting for it" I ate another fudge ball and felt something strange in my belly "Harry..." he rushed to my side. I slowly looked up at him "I think it's time..." panic started to show in his face. I held onto my belly in pain, so much pain... agh..

"Louis!!" he shouted and took out his phone to call someone. Louis and everyone else showed up near us. Louis rushed to my side

"Hey, hey, you alright?" he looked at me holding my stomach, I shook my head, starting to bend down "is it..." I nodded. I heard footsteps coming towards the room

"What's the panic that you had to get me over here?" Fer asked while walking over to Ariana

"It's time" Ariana frowned. his brows widened surprised and rushed over to me and Louis

"Okay, I'll use the last bit of my magic to teleport you there" I looked at him confused

"Your last bit? what happened to it?" he shook his head and held my and Louis's shoulder

"Not the time" we ended up at the hospital in a flash. Doctors were already running up to sit me in a wheel chair. I looked up at Fers pale face, starting to sweat, he didn't look good

"Fernando" he shook his head. he went more pale that it scared me

"I'm fine..." he didn't convince me. did using his last but of magic effect him? "go" he told the doctors and Louis, I held my belly in deep pain and looked back at him swaying in place. I gasped

"Fernando!" he passed out on the floor
