The Age Of Madness

You told me that
Humanity is a sea of arms that struggle to climb to the top.
They live to consume and control,
Create and grow.

They grew up to think that

Revenge is sweet,
Betrayal is clean
You can hurt what can bleed
And ignore what can't be seen,
Revoke like the world is a cage,
And yell that you're not okay,
Blame the powerful that you are weak,
That the grass is not green,
The birds are not free,
And work is a forced choice,

Time keeps us busy,
Reality is a drugged treat,
Buy space to breathe
We are not awake, but asleep
This is utopia, no, it's a modern hell.
Ring bells to be aware
Set rules that are cracked and weak
Grow to be the perfect solution to the dying world we first polluted
Build to conquer the skies,
Reach to drop the crippled.

On my own I learned that,

The free are labeled as deranged and are trapped inside their minds because the world failed to keep them in.
Break the shackles-you get hit for disobedience,
Dance and sing and pray to be listened, but you're now corrupted by fame.
The cunning predators learned to hide and are playing more often.
You failed to hold hands because you were afraid that monsters will hurt you.
Cry because you're being hunted,
Freeze because there's a hidden grave underneath your feet
The sick are thrown away,
Animals are being driven away,
And the mysteries are left unfound.

You're a fool because you have no identity.
You're repeating because no one is moving,
You're dying because of the blood on your hands,
You're falling because you're not like them,
You're forgotten because you were not important.

I look at the world and think that ants are so much better at the unison they've created because they're all the same and learned to comply.
