Expectations

There's always something you should do,

A way to act or a way to look.

A perfect face or perhaps a perfect body,

Either way is smiled upon by many,

Seeing perfection as a gift.

But that is expectations,

Too unrealistic to become true,

A wish worked hard for,

Only to come out as imperfection.

Do not expect the unexpected,

For it becomes a certain way,

Unhoped or unlooked for.

Just accept what you have,

Even if it's not too big,

Because that's the beauty in it,

That you accept what you are,

Or change who you want to be.

Alter the imperfection as an expectation,

A way to tell all that you are what you are,

And not what they say.
