Dong Fang walked deep into the forest. The surroundings that smelled damp moss and wet tree trunks greeted him. He stopped and stared at the man he was holding and planted a kiss on his forehead. Dong Fang could hear some branches swaying, as well as the sound of distant birds and the buzzing of some insects. The trees grown so large with their leaves covering the sky and no light could pass through them.

Dong Fang could still recall their fateful encounter during the celebration of "The Festivities of the Four Elements" in town. It was a special event and was only celebrated once a year where many people gathered to have fun and meet new friends.

Their meeting started with a stick of strawberry glazed in crispy brown sugar Dong Fang saw during that event. He tried picking it but was surprised when another hand was also holding the same stick. He didn't let go of the stick, as well as the other person.

"Um... You like this candy, right? It's yours." The other person tried to smile and handed the stick to Dong Fang but Dong Fang didn't accept it.

Dong Fang saw that the other person looked around like looking for someone.

"Who are you looking for?" Dong Fang asked.

"My friend. Don't you want this candy? Then is it okay for me to have it?" The other person seemed to be in a hurry and paid for the candy, and was about to walk away but Dong Fang tried to stop him by lightly grabbing his arm.

The other person turned around and stared at Dong Fang like asking 'Why did you stop me?'

"Let's share that candy." Dong Fang said.

"You- you want to share?" The other man asked.

"Yes. I want to share it with you."

The other man looked at the delectable strawberries on the stick and couldn't hide his expression.

Dong Fang couldn't help but smile inside. This handsome-looking man looked like a child whose favorite food was about to be taken away from him. It's good to tease him.

"H-how?" The other man innocently asked.

Dong Fang took the stick from him and took off his mask, revealing a very handsome face. The other man couldn't help but stare at his face. Then Dong Fang slowly took a small bite from each strawberry on the stick. The other man's eyes widened.

Dong Fang licked his lips and smiled at him.

"Stop staring. I know I'm handsome." Dong Fang handed him the stick.

"..." The other man stood stupefied while holding the stick.

"Now, eat." Dong Fang said sternly.

The other man was hesitant at first but slowly ate the strawberries on the stick.

While the other man was eating, Dong Fang slowly wore his mask again.

"It's sweeter that way, isn't it?" Dong Fang smiled at him. I didn't expect that he would eat those strawberries. Dong Fang forced himself not to laugh.

***That other person was Yu Zeng.

Unlike the sweetness of those strawberries, my life is now bland. Dong Fang carefully placed Yu Zeng's body on the grass. He has been walking for days with no food, no water, and no rest. However, the pain he felt physically could not win against the pain he was feeling inside.

Why did it end up like this? Dong Fang thought while slowly stroking Yu Zeng's face. Don't I deserve a happy ending?

He lied beside Yu Zeng and hugged the man before closing his eyes forever.
