I sat awkwardly in my seat while waiting for the event to start. It's taking longer than I anticipated, and the loud voices around me were starting to give me a headache.

I wasn't used to being in one room with this many people. Flashing cameras everywhere. Like the flash grenades that were thrown at me in war. The screams of excitement, all I heard were the screams of someone getting hit by a bullet or stepping on a landmine.

I shook my head and took deep breath. I got better when managing PTSD. It's been years afterall, but this much noise and flashing of cameras is something I wasn't used to, even in my old hero days. The memory doesn't really leave you, but all I had to do was endure it like I used to do.

I cleared my thoughts and just focused on the stage. People were taking seats all around me, heroes were still greeting me which I politely returned.

"Didn't know you were coming to this event. It's an honor to meet you face to face" Mt. Lady greeted as she took the seat next to me.

"Nice to meet you, good job on your recent work. I suspect you'll be moving up the ranks at a fast pace" I greeted back.

"Hopefully some day, need to beat that Kamui woods" she laughed. I smiled slightly and continued to look at the front.

"So, why aren't you up there?" She asked.

"My return is only temporary"

"Aww that's a real shame, I was hoping you would keep at it. Your work is an inspiration afterall.

"That means a lot, thank you"

"Sooo, why don't we go on a date?~" she said in a sing song voice.

"I look 15 years old" I commented.

"Yeah but you're not. Come on it'll be fun!"

"Sorry I can't"

"How come? No one has ever seen you with a girl, you don't have to be nervous~"

"Uhh, I'm married already" I explained, turning to look at her.

"What?! Where's your ring?!"

I reached under my shirt and brought out my military dog tags. Also on the chain were two wedding rings. "They don't fit my finger anymore, so I put them on my military tags" I explained before tucking them back under my shirt.

When my first life ended and I reverted back to a teenage body, the ring was too big for my finger. So I wore it with my dog tags, I also had Shiyuna's ring on the chain as well.

"Ughhh, so you're still doing better than every one of us" Mt. Lady whined. "We just never see her with you, so I assumed. I'm sorry" she said.

"It's fine, she's not here anymore so I get this a lot"

"Oh, sorry to hear that. You ever think about moving on? Someone of your caliber can surely find someone else"
