Dedicated to Kawaii_Eren, because in the last chapter, they asked for a soul mate AU. Anywho, ybrookie requested a soul mate color AU, like, a really long time ago, so I'm sorry, but anyways, I'm sure you guys know this one, and I'm to lazy to think of one that hasn't been done yet - basically, the world is black and white until they meet their soulmate.

Nico sighed, staring at the bland ceiling. When he could actually see color, he'd paint the ceiling in an array of colors, maybe blue, and silver, and black? He didn't know. He couldn't remember the last time he saw color. He didn't know if he'd ever seen color.

Nico sighed again, turning on his stomach, watching the black and white world outside his window. The cars zoomed past, stories under his apartment, the lights from the buildings around him glowing eerily against the dull sky. He blew out a breath, before closing the curtains, and dropping his chin on the pillow underneath his head.

Twenty-three years old, and he still hasn't met his soulmate.

Next Morning

Nico trudged up the sidewalk to the hospital slowly, dragging his feet as if he could stall the trip. He'd been to this hospital enough as it was. All the people in the same major as him - forensic pathology - were going on a field trip to the hospital, to see the morgue.

The door slid open with a swish, and he walked towards the group of people that were his classmates. He nodded to a couple nurses as he passed, ignoring the inquiring looks from his classmates as a particularly pretty nurse, by the name of Piper, called him by name. He glances towards the ICU wing, a longing look on his face.

A feminine voice speaks next to him, and he looks over to see Piper. "No change sugar. I'm sorry."

Nico gave her a small smile, nodding, as the two of them ignore the jealous stares from the girls, and hungry gaze from the boys. Piper pulled the boy into an embrace, and Nico tenses, but hugs her back. She pulls away, patting his cheek, before walking back to the counter, leaning against it. Nico's friends surround him, talking at once.

"Oh my gosh, who is she? Nico, is she your girlfriend? I've been say you nee-"

"No, she's not my girlfriend." Nico interrupts, "Her name is Piper, and she's my cousin's fiance. I haven't met my soulmate, remember?" Nico rolls his eyes at the crestfallen look on Josh's face, and the annoyed one on Lilly's.

Nico sighed, following the group with a bored expression. He looked up, to see a light haired man, with a darkish grey skin tone, and a well built body. Nico ducked his eyes before the boy could see him staring, and when he glanced up, he felt the man's gaze. Before Nico could meet his eyes, and glare, like he would have to anyone else, Lilly bumped into him. Nico jerked his gaze away, opting to look forwards again, ignoring the burning stare at the back of his head.

As the group took the elevator down to the morgue, Nico couldn't help but notice the doctor he had previously been staring at, walk down the ICU wing. Nico's brow furrowed. Where was Dr. Solace? The one who usually worked that area of the hospital?

The elevator doors closed, and starting moving with a jolt. Everyone, but Nico and the nurses giving them the tour - and the one's going to whatever room they're needed in, yelped, and almost fell over. Nico hid a snicker, making eye contact with the nurses around him, who too were hiding smiles.

"That was boooring!" Josh groaned, once the were back in the lobby. Nico nodded, itching to be away from them, and where he should be right now - with Bianca. He glanced at his friends, and realizing they were already staring at him, he realized he had zoned out and shrugged in agreement, not a hundred percent sure what he was agreeing to.

Once his friends left, Nico making excuses to loiter, and not go home, he quickly made his way down the Intensive Care Unit, before slowing down, and gently creaking open the door. He peeked in, blinking in surprise as he saw a man with light hair, a white lab coat, and that was all Nico could tell without the sight of color.

He cleared his throat, the young man jumped in surprise, whirling around. It was the guy from before!

Nico looked up at him, with a suspicious glare as he met the brilliant blue eyes - wait, blue?

Nico's jaw dropped, and he looked around in wonder. The room was the same - bright white, but the girl on the bed had black hair, stark against the white sheets below her. The line that moved across the screen as it tracked her heart was a pulsing green, and details popped out at him.

He looked beck at the older boy, who too was looking around in wonder. Nico took a minute to study his soul mate, the male taller than Nico by at least half a foot, his hair a brilliant blond, curling gently. His skin was tan, something you get from being outside. His lips were a pale pink, high cheekbones covered in gold spots, which gathered by the bridge of his nose.

His eyes met Nico's again, and a grin spread over his face. He stepped closer, and Nico looked up at him.

"Beautiful." The blond murmured, and Nico looked at him quizzically. "Your eyes." The blond was still whispering, and Nico ducked his head, feeling his cheeks heat up.

"They're just black." Nico muttered shyly.

The blond made a choked noise, and Nico looked up, rolling his eyes. "Hey," Nico said, putting one hand on his hip, and the blond looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Look at me," Nico gestured to his attire, ignoring the smirk that the doctor was wearing, and continued; "I memorized the shade, OK?"

The older boy burst into laughter, and Nico smiled. The blond's laughter sounded beautiful, and Nico's heart swelled with hope. His smile fell, as he remembered where he was.

The doctor didn't notice his change in attitude, and held out his hand. "I'm Dr. William Solace, but I prefer Will."

Nico jolted at the name, shaking hands with the older male. "Nico Di Angelo. I assume you're Apollo's son?"

Will nodded, before his gaze went to the girl on the bed, and then making eye contact with the olive-skinned boy once again. Nico nodded at Will's questioning gaze, and Will tugged Nico closer, wrapping an arm around his waist. Nico automatically leaned his head against Will, looking sadly at the pale girl on the bed.

"She's my older sister." Nico murmured, breaking the comfortable silence. Will squeezed his arm, comforting him.

"How old are you?"

"Twenty three." Nico said, looking up at Will. "How old are you?"

"Twenty five."

Nico nodded, closing his eyes to avoid looking at the girl on the bed, and leaned into Will more.

It was odd, Nico didn't even know this man, but he felt more comfortable, and able to be open then he had in years.

"Hey Nico?"

"Hmm?"

"I know this is a weird time to ask, but, would you like to go out with me?"

Nico couldn't help but smile, turning to face Will, standing on tiptoes to press a kiss to the blond's cheek. "I'd love that."

The ending's meh, I feel like the Bianca thing is unresolved, so maybe part two. . .?
