day 9
2.22 am
lee haruthe princess saves herself in this one
i don't know what stirs me up
but when i open my eyes
the first thing that comes to mind is:
how long am i going to keep running
how long will it be until i'm caught
how long will it be until i lose my freedomi still remember the face of my
supposed fiance
there's no way in hell
i'm going to marry someone
i don't even knowshaking the uneasiness out of my head
i lay in that position
for at least another 15 minutes
until i give up trying to sleepi hop off the bed
flinching as my feet touch the cold floor
and pull the door of my room openthe lights in the hallway are on
and it looks like the ones downstairs are on too
i wonder what time it isi shuffle out as quiet as i can
and head towards the staircase
leading down to the bookshop
the place looks like something out of a
harry potter movie
like the hogwarts' library
except that this is much smaller
it feels almost magical
this is the kind of place you only find
in books and moviesi let my hands slide over the carvings
on the handrails of the staircase
there are books sprawled over the floor
probably some to be stacked up in the morningi pick a book from the floor with the words
the chaos of longing written on the dusty coverin a matter of a few minutes
i find myself completely engrossed
in the books on the shelves
after searching around for other books for awhile
i find another one called paradise lost
another book filled with pretty poems"you seem to like poetry alot"
a familiar voice beams from behind memy shoulders jolt in surprise
and i whirl around to see
jeongguk leaning by the stairs
staring at me with his signature grin"and classical romance too
i don't know anyone who's
into that genre these days
everyone thinks its old"i let out a small chuckle
holding the book in my hands up so he can see it
"it has a way of calming the soul
not everyone can relate to that"jeongguk strolls down towards me
and leans over the bookshelves
lips forming a pout
then, he pulls a book out from the shelf
and holds it out for me to see"the princess saves herself in this one
by amanda lovelace"
i look back up at him in anticipation
and he flips to the first page"once upon a time" he reads
"the princess rose from the ashes
that her dragon lovers made of her
and crowned herself the queen of herself"
jeongguk looks to see my reaction
"how's that for a happily ever after"our eyes meet and he takes my hand
placing the book in it
"the lady lets me take any book
i want to read here, read this,
i was curious before so i read a few pages
trust me it's a great book
you'll be able to relate to it somehow"i flip over to see several more poems
printed on the pages
"i had a big smile on my face
as i burned the bridges
to all the things i could not repair"no one would've ever thought
that jeongguk
famous jeon jeongguk of all people
was into poetry
most people would consider it boringjeongguk clears his throat,
pulling my attention back to him
"since you're awake
i have something to show you"he pulls me by the arm
and i give in to him as he leads me upstairs
