5. The Protagonist meets the Villain

The center of the town was crowded as a beehive, Heng Guiying and Wei Shun looked around but they couldn't find Yu Zeng. Just as when they were about to go to the other side of the place where different kinds of food were sold, they noticed a commotion nearby. They could hear a woman's voice but they couldn't see her face, as the source of the voice was surrounded by many people. Due to his curious nature, Heng Guiying tried to find out what's going on and saw a beautiful lady in a long pink robe with wide sleeves.

The lady was facing a tall man and they looked like fighting.

"You always boast that you are the best in our sect! I'm sick of that!" The man said.

"When did I do that? Are you the best?" The lady asked in her mellow tone voice hypnotizing the people around.

"What do you think?" The man smugly asked. He summoned his wind element and sent a slightly strong breeze towards the lady making her hair quite messy and the leaves on the ground ruffled. Some of the owners of the nearby stalls panicked as some of their goods flew and landed on the ground.

"That was just a sample. Wait till you experience the real thing." The man smirked.

The lady tried to comb her hair with her delicate hand and she glared at the man. She summoned her element and a majestic-looking phoenix flew towards the man. The man stood frozen, he couldn't use his wind element for fear that the fire might scatter around and would hurt others. Just as the fire phoenix was about to hit the man, a solid wall of soil stood in front of him, the fire phoenix hit it and was enveloped with the soil and only a thin smoke escaped from it.

"I will let you escape for now." The man said before leaving.

The lady was so angry and looked around for whoever meddled with her fight, she looked around and saw a tall and handsome man; she couldn't help but keep looking at the man.

Just my type. I forgive you.

The lady's angry expression changed into a soft one and slowly approached the man. All the angry feelings inside her heart disappeared.

"I'm Ai Jin." The beautiful lady said.

"Nice meeting you, I'm Heng Guiying."

"Are you alone?" The beautiful lady asked him, the other men around looked at Heng Guiying with envy.

Guiying was about to answer when he noticed that Wei Shun was not beside him and was nowhere to be found.

The lady saw the panicked expression of the man in front of her. She was about to ask what's the matter but Heng Guiying immediately left leaving a dumbstricken Ai Jin behind.

When Heng Guiying got out of the crowd of people, he saw Wei Shun waiting for him. He was relieved and was about to tell him something but when he looked around, he saw Yu Zeng with a man wearing a light blue robe and white mask. His happy expression changed into a cold one startling the young child in front of him.

"You- you want to share?" Yu Zeng asked the man.

"Yes. I want to share it with you."

Yu Zeng looked at the delectable strawberries on the stick and couldn't hide his expression. You can just buy another one. This is the last stick of strawberry glazed in crispy brown sugar. Do you really love strawberries Mr. Villain?

The villain couldn't help but smile inside. This handsome-looking man looked like a child whose favorite food was about to be taken away from him. It's good to tease him.

"H-how?" Yu Zeng innocently asked.

Yu Zeng noticed the left eyebrow of the villain raised and there was an amused look in his golden eyes.

I have a bad feeling about this and with the mask, he is wearing, how can he eat?

The villain took the stick from Yu Zeng and took off his mask, revealing a very handsome face. Yu Zeng couldn't help but stare at it. Then the villain slowly took a small bite from each strawberry on the stick. Yu Zeng's eyes widened. What is he doing???

The villain licked his lips and smiled at him.

"Stop staring. I know I'm handsome." He handed him the stick.

"..." Yu Zeng stood stupefied while holding the stick.

"Now, eat." The villain said sternly causing his heart to almost jump out from his chest.

Yu Zeng slowly ate the strawberries on the stick while crying his heart out.

This villain! What is he thinking ah?

While Yu Zeng was eating, the villain slowly wore his mask again.

"It's sweeter that way, isn't it?" The villain smiled at him while touching his hair.

"What's sweeter?" A cold voice with no hint of friendliness asked.

Yu Zeng almost dropped the stick he was holding.

The protagonist?!

"Your friend?" The villain asked.

"Y-yes."

"Hi! I'm Dong Fang! You are?" The villain looked at the protagonist warily.

Heng Guiying looked at the white mask covering the man's face. Why is he covering his face?

"Heng Guiying." Guiying turned to look at Yu Zeng who was still absorbing what happened. "Let's go back. It's already late."

"..." Wait! Where is the heroine?

Heng Guiying grabbed Yu Zeng's arm and walked away from the villain.

Yu Zeng looked at Dong Fang and smiled before leaving. His innocent smiled caught Dong Fang off guard. It was the first time when someone smiled at him with no hidden intentions behind it. He wanted to see him smiling at him again.

His irises dilated and there was a sense of longing while looking at Yu Zeng and couldn't help but sneer when he looked at Heng Guiying walking beside him.

We will meet again Yu Zeng and when we do...
