Elise's POV

I gave him a dirty look as I pressed his ID card against his chest. He gave me an apologetic look as he took his ID card. I shook my head, disappointment in my eyes and ran away as tears ran down my cheeks.

Chad reached me and grabbed my wrist, stopping me. "Elise, please listen to me." He pleaded.

"What?! What will you tell me? You lied to me all this time." I snarled at him, pulling my hand away.

"I love you, Elise." He said and captured my lips.

I placed my hands on his chest and pushed him back. He pulled back. I slapped across his face.

"You are fired." I snapped, giving him a cold glare and rushed into the house without letting him say anything.

"What happened? Why are you crying?" My mother asked me, worried as she walked into my room.

I hugged my mother, still crying. She hugged me back, rubbing my back.

"What happened? Did you have a fight with Chad?" She asked as she pulled back slightly.

"I hate him." I hissed and sat down on the bed, wiping my tears off my cheeks with my hands.

"What happened, dear?" My mother asked softly.

"He lied to us. He is Victor's son." I replied, sobbing. My mother looked at me, confused. "He is Chad Carter. Victor Carter's son."

My mother stared at me in surprise. "Are you sure? Why does he need to lie about it? Or if he is his son, why does he work here? They are so wealthy." My mother said, confused.

"He doesn't work here anymore. I fired him." I informed.

Chad's POV

I decided to pack; staying here was meaningless. She would not listen to me. Every time when I remembered how she looked at me, full of disappointment in her eyes, my heart sank.

Fuck! That sleazeball has ruined everything.

When I returned, he had already left. Otherwise, I would not be held responsible for my actions. No one could take him out of my hands.

The knock on the door interrupted me from my thoughts.

"Come in." I said as I placed my shirt into the suitcase.

Louisa walked in and gave me a slight smile. She looked surprised as she noticed my suitcase.

"Are you leaving?" She asked.

"Yeah." I muttered without managing to hide sadness in my voice.

"It is for the best for both of you. She needs some time to calm down. She will soften up. Elise loves you. " She said as she gave me a reassuring smile.

"I hope." I sighed, unconvinced and continued packing my suitcase.

"....But why?" Louisa asked after a few seconds of silence. "Why do you work here instead of your company?" She asked curiously.

"It is a long story. In short, my father wanted to give me a lesson." I replied ironically. "And it was a life changing lesson." I added sadly. She gave me a compassionate look.

After leaving the mansion, I went to my penthouse. I didn't want to see anyone, especially my father.

I poured a glass of whiskey for myself and drank all of it in one sip. I poured some whiskey for myself again and sat down on the couch, leaning my elbows on my thighs, staring into space.

I woke up with my phone ringtone. I rubbed my temples as I grabbed my phone and declined the call without looking at the screen.

I had a pounding headache. I had a crick on my neck as well. I fell asleep on the couch yesterday. Now all my body was aching.

I got up and went to the kitchen. I poured a glass of water and took a painkiller. Then I went to the bathroom.

I turned on the water and stood under the warm water, closing my eyes. How will I make Elise forgive me? I felt desperate.

Elise's POV

I woke up feeling nauseated. I got up quickly and rushed into the bathroom, covering my mouth with my hand. Hopefully, I reached the bathroom in time. I placed my hands on the sides of the sink counter for support while vomiting. After throwing up, I washed my face and brushed my teeth.

Ugh! I just needed a stomach bug! I said sarcastically with my inner voice.

I changed my clothes and went downstairs. My parents were having breakfast. After greeting them, I joined them. My mother gave me a questioning look, asking me how I felt. I shrugged my shoulders, forcing a slight smile.

I was picking at my breakfast. I didn't have an appetite. On the other hand, I was afraid of vomiting again. I placed my hand on my cheek, leaning on my elbow, staring into space.

"Where is Chad? I haven't seen him the last two days." My father asked me.

I looked at my father, playing with my fingers. ".... I fired him." I said nonchalantly.

"What?!" He asked me, puzzled.

"I fired him." I repeated.

"Why?" He asked with questioning eyes.

"I think he doesn't need to work as a driver when he has a billion dollars company." I replied dryly.

When I looked at my father, he didn't look surprised.

"Did you know?" I asked, giving him a puzzled look. He nodded. "What?!" I snapped as I stood up. "Why did you keep it from me in secret?" I asked angrily, running my hand through my hair.

"Because it was between Victor and me. Even Chad didn't know that I knew who he was." I looked at my father, confused. "Victor wanted to give Chad a lesson."

"I can not believe my ears." I ran my hand through my hair, ruffling it. Tears shimmered in my eyes. I was barely holding myself from crying.

"Why is it matter for you who he is? It is between Chad, Victor and me. More correctly, between Victor and Chad. I just helped Victor." He said.

"Because..." I nibbled my lower lip as tears started running down my cheeks. "Because...I fell in love with that damned liar." I admitted, crying.

My father's eyes widened as he looked at me in shock.
