Chad's POV

I was in my office in the company. I couldn't concentrate on work, despite the fact I had a load of paperwork in front of me needing to check or sign; I was thinking about my passionate weekend with Elise.

Suddenly, my office phone rang, interrupting my thoughts.

"Yes?" I snapped.

"Sir, you have a visitor." My secretary informed me. "But he doesn't have an appointment."

"Didn't I tell you didn't let anyone without an appointment today?" I reminded her.

"Yes, sir....but Mister Steve Martin..."

"Let him in." I ordered without letting her finish her sentence.

"Alright, sir."

I stood up immediately and placed my hands into my pockets, waiting for him. I should accept I was a little nervous. I hadn't talked to him since they found out about Elise's pregnancy.

I gave him a slight smile as he walked in.

"Good morning, sir

"Good morning, sir." I greeted him as I approached him.

"Good morning, Chad." He shook my hand firmly. "Call me Steve." He added. I nodded. "I want to talk to you. I guess you know what the subject is." He said firmly. I gulped as I nodded.

"Would you like something to drink?" I asked as we sat down.

"No, thanks." He breathed deeply as he started talking. "When Victor asked me to hire you as Elise's bodyguard and private driver, I had some worries. I was worried about Elise, especially knowing about your night life didn't help me, but he assured me that he would warn you to stay away from Elise. So I accepted it. And you didn't mislead and made me right." He gave me a slight smile, shaking his head. I smiled at him back, entwining my hands on the desk nervously. "But this is old news now." He sighed. "I like you, Chad; you are a good person, despite your past. If I didn't hear about your past life before knowing you, I would never believe it, but I know Victor very well. He would not lie about it, especially about his son. And I heard your adventures from other people too." He said, emphasizing the words your adventures.

"...I..." He raised his hand in the air, stopping me.

"I saw how you have changed. But I love my daughter more than anyone else. Victor told me as well that you have changed and told me that I should give you a chance."

I looked at him, surprised. My father talked to him? I didn't expect it.

"So I will give you a chance to prove yourself." He said, interrupting my thoughts.

I gave him a wide smile. "Thank you. I will not disappoint you." I promised.

"If you hurt Elise, no one can save you, including your father." He warned me firmly, giving me a serious look.
