disclaimer: i do not own any of the characters that belong to the descendants franchise.

however i do own whatever my brain comes up with outside of that.

this is the first time i've written a descendants fanfic and i don't want to disappoint readers who expected something else so here are some points i want to make

1. this book will start with the background of Descendants 1 where the kids first arrive at Auradon

2. there won't be any Uma, Harry, or anyone else who didn't appear until after the first movie (sorry!)

Edit: lol I changed my mind: there will be Uma and the rest of her crew at some point hehe

3. i haven't completely mapped out my plot yet, but at least half of it will be original. i may reference the movie a lot, especially at the first couple chapters because that's the background. But mostly i'm just borrowing the characters and the setting

4. There's going to be lyrics from songs at the start of every chapter. (It's not an original idea, just to clarify. I've seen other people do it before me and I don't want to take credit) I just love how much lyrics can express and I wanted to try this idea out. Yes, it will be related to the chapter. And if you're interested in what song it is, feel free to ask. You might even know some of them already.

5. IMPORTANT. my main character is Braelyn, daughter of Shan Yu from Mulan. and you'll find out more about her later

I'm gonna be updating every few days (unless something out of the ordinary happens, I'll let you know)

i hope you find this book at least slightly enjoyable cause truth told i'm still very uncertain but that's how every writer starts their journey right?
