"You sure about this?" Bucky sat on the examination table in Wakanda's lab. "I can't trust my own mind." Bucky smiled sadly, "So, until they figure out how to get this stuff outta my head, I think going back under is the best thing... for everybody." Bucky's eyes fell to El who stood behind Shuri watching her type on her computer with awe filled eyes.
"It's best for her." Steve smiled at the tiny twelve year old, "I'll let you talk to her alone." Bucky gave him a curt nod, and the Captain headed out of the lab.
El watched Steve leave earnestly before quietly padding over to Bucky. "Hey, kid," Bucky simpered. "Hey."
"So, Shuri says you got your own room in the palace." El let slip a giggle. According to the Wakandan Princess, when Bucky got out of cyro, he would need his rest, so El would stay with the royal family. Part of it, was just the Princess wanting to spend time with her new friend.
"It's gonna be okay," El nodded holding out her pinky finger. Bucky did as hoped, looping his own small finger in the tiny twelve year old's. "Me and you."
El stepped out of the lab. Watching with Steve through the mirror as Bucky went under. "El, are you ready to see your room?" The twelve year old nodded eagerly to Okoye. "I guess this is goodbye then."
El whipped around to Steve giving him a warm smile. "Thank you." Those two words meant more than the world to El. It meant thank you for everything, saving them, protecting Bucky, protecting her, all of it. Unfortunately, with the lacking of a vocabulary, it was difficult for El to properly display all of her emotions.
"You stay outta trouble, alright?" El shrugged making Steve laugh. That statement in itself seemed impossible for the twelve year old. The two were silent for only a moment before El threw herself into Steve giving the ultimate bear hug.
